Roon Bridge 2.60 (build 1501) Production with EA Roon Server

Hi @support
This morning, some of my RoonBridges were updated to 2.6. Then they could not be seen from my EA RoonServer. Is this Miss-matching ?? Are there any way to update EA RoonServer to support RoonBridge 2.6 or can I roll back my RoonBridge to 1.8 ?
Thanks

I have had this across multiple devices today as well.

I seem to remember it also happened last year and Roon pushed out the 1.8 version again which made the world a better place. So far I managed to update one of my Roon Bridge device to work correctly but another will no longer work, so I will wait and see

Yup, there’s a problem. The Roon Bridge 2.60 on this device is not working with my EA Roon Server:

I knocked on Support.

At least my Chord Mojo Poly still works otherwise this wipes out most of my playing today except that and one AirPlay device.

Thanks - unfortunately it’s the weekend, support won’t respond until next week. This has been unfortunate timing of the 2.60 Production release…

Thanks,
I almost lost the music on this Sunday :smiling_face_with_tear: but no way, I have to wait.

I ran into the same problem.
Since I had no other choice, I copied the RoonBridge directory from a machine that hadn’t been updated and rolled back.
I really wish they had tested it before releasing it. What’s the point of having an Early Access version?

I thought they had sworn off late week releases after previous issues, when no one’s around to offer help.

This together with the cloud server issue getting playlists and artist information taking 30 seconds to a minute is not a good look.

This may differ if there is a security issue,

If they didn’t plug potential security holes immediately, people would complain too.

But yeah, next time they should maybe test things and not forget that there is EA and a Bridge

And put up a banner on the forum for the ARC 526 issue (which is not all that bad as it still works, but how would anyone know) and the server load issues. I asked three people and it didn’t happen @Geoff_Coupe

Us volunteer mods aren’t able to erect banners - we’ve asked Roon Labs to do it, but - it is the weekend, so…

But haven’t you at least been able to pin posts before? Anyway, you should be if official staff ignores everything that’s going on during weekends. Servers can go down anytime.

Well it was not the weekend yesterday when I wrote Benjamin and Connor.

Instead now you have to run around and tell people that ARC still works despite the 526 error and all the other stuff. I have sworn to myself that this time I won’t let my weekend be ruined by doing Roon support’s job, so I’m sorry I won’t be helping out.

This is very much true, and I had already forgotten about that, funny how quickly that happens :man_facepalming:t2:

Also 100%

Not to my knowledge

I may well be wrong. Well you should be allowed to do either

Doing God’s work @Geoff_Coupe, while the developers sit on the beach on the weekend and drink cocktails

I always feel bad when you guys get it ineck and have nothing at all to do with the issues.

I got @Takeshi_Imazu’s temporary solution , so I could roll-back RoonBridge to 1.8. Then the main audio system started to sing beatiful. PS: Ropieees could not be rolled-back.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Really, I mean s**t happens (and it’s all working actually, apart from EA and bridge, just the loading is slow and the ARC error confusing) but put up a freakin’ banner! Every single time we have to go through this and then they put up a banner 3 days too late.

@Michael_Harris & @Suedkiez are so correct in their words. Not putting up a banner and dropping updates on Fridays it’s rather poor. Any frustration is justified I think.

My suggestion is the volunteer moderators and all super helpful forum users sit back. Let Roon do a mop up on Monday of all the new support threads that are gonna be created over the weekend.

Last night I set up roon and enabled a port forward rule for Arc, but it would not establish a connection on my mobile network. So for some maybe this 526 error isn’t an issue but maybe for some it is.

Same for the Roon Bridge update.

there could be roon staff working in the background that we don’t know about trying to resolve any issues the likelihood is very slim and I’ve seen before not much is fixed over a weekend

I don’t buy the constant Roon refrain “it’s the weekend”. If you release an update on a Friday (yes, I know it was necessary) then there should be a contingency to deal with potential problems. Roon seems to treat the weekend as if it’s a period of un-disturbable religious observance. Work the weekend if absolutely necessary and then take a couple of days off in the week.
