I updated Roon Bridge to version 2.60 today (previously I was on 1.80, if I recall correctly). After the update, I’m no longer able to enable my device and zone.
As shown in the attached screenshots, when I try to enable the device, it shows “Enabling…” but remains stuck there and never completes. As a result, I’m unable to play music through my Gustard R26 streamer DAC. Everything was working normally prior to the update.
May I kindly ask:
• Is there anything I can do on my end to troubleshoot or resolve this issue?
• Is it possible to roll back to the previous version of Roon Bridge? If so, could you please advise on the proper steps?
Please let me know if you need any additional information (logs, system details, etc.), and I’ll be happy to provide it.
Is your Roon Server an earlier build than version 2.60? If so, then your issue is being caused by an incompatibility between Roon clients version 2.60 and earlier versions of Roon Server. See:
Either update your Roon Server to version 2.60 (Production) or, if you are running Early Access builds of Roon Server, wait until Roon Labs release a new Early Access version.
Thank you very much for the information — this is really helpful.
I’ve just checked and my Roon Server is still on version 2.59. Does that mean I’ll need to wait for the release of Roon Server 2.60 in order to resolve this?
If I’m on the Early Access track, does that also mean we don’t yet know when the next Early Access build (with 2.60 compatibility) will be released?
Appreciate your guidance on this — thanks again for pointing this out.
What is your Roon Server running on? PC, Mac, Nucleus or NAS? Your Roon’s > About screen will tell you whether you are running Early Access or Production builds. Which do you have?
Roon Labs had hoped to release a new Early Access version last Friday, but it didn’t get through their QA testing apparently.
I’m running Roon Nucleus and have successfully transitioned back to the Production 2.60 build — everything is working fine now. Thank you so much again for the help, really appreciate it.
This part is a bit confusing though… I always thought Early Access versions would be ahead of Production builds. But EA is on 2.59 while Production is already on 2.60 — what kind of logic is this?
