Great news! Does it also work with the original AirPlay? Thanks!
Airplay works again when playing albums, it still does not work with live radios at the first try, it requires to stop and restart the live radio, somewhat better but not working.
I downloaded Roon Server build 1410 early access and rebooted router, Nucleus, and restarted Roon, still no fix on my end for AirPlay.
Same here. My AirPlay 1 devices still work but all my AirPlay 2-only or mixed AirPlay 1/2 devices no longer play anything, including devices that worked previously such as my Apple TV 4Ks and HomePod minis. They are visible and enabled, but cannot be used to play once selected. Using EA 1410.

Describe the issue
Can't play on Airplay connected devices e.g. my USB DAC. The device appears in the list, connection is fine, playback starts i.e. the equaliser "symbol" starts animating but there's no sound. This is only in Airplay devices, Chromecast on my Google TV seems to be OK. I have read there are known issues with Airplay but it is impossible evaluate Roon when I can't play anything on my primary DAC.
Describe your network setup
Everything is connected over Ethernet except my phone, where Roon Remote is installed. Have tested on my tablet, same issue. WiFi is fine for everything else. Ethernet is all Unifi, WiFi is all Omada. Airplay is the only thing that has any issue.
Same here. Updating to 1410 early access made no difference. In fact it has made things worse. Play icon used to start music with no sound but now playing music just changes the play icon to a pause icon for less than a second then it goes straight back to a play icon.
Been meaning to come and report this for some time. I have several Yamaha devices which use Airplay 1 and it is almost impossible to get them to play with Roon at present. Glad it is not just me, but not glad it is happening as this seems fundamental and using Roon across all my devices was my primary reason for purchasing it. Currently have Roon 1407 running on my QNAP NAS. I have other options to get music on my devices (without the limitations of AirPlay 1 actually as they will work with UPnP), but with a vastly inferior interface and integration. Hoping this is fixed soon and properly as Iām not sure I can shift to early access on the QNAP.
There are also early access packages for qnap, see Roon Early Access Download links.
Mine is running on a synology. Just installing the early access package over an existing server package did not work. I had to uninstall the āstableā roon package first and then install the early access version to make it work and show the correct version under āinfoā.
I also cannot play music using an old Airplay device with Roon 2.0 build 1407. My device is an Oppo Sonica wireless speaker. My Roon Server is running on a Mac Mini with M2 processor and MacOS Ventura 13.6.6. It worked fine until the last couple of Roon builds.
The start/stop/start etc trick is working for my HomePods.
Anyone else having issues using B&W Zeppelinās via airplay not playing within Roon as of late?
TIA
Itās probably this issue, which is under investigation. I suggest that you keep an eye on this thread:
Thanks much, searched for Zeppelin issues and didnāt find anything.
Will use outside app.
I found a new trick that works for me. After trying to play via AirPlay, hold down the play button to abort all attempted and stalled playback. Then hit play. Works every time for me.
I downloaded and installed Early Access build 1414 on my Mac mini and it solved the Airplay issue introduced with build 1407 for me (endpoint is a Pioneer SX-N30DAB receiver).
Thanks!
All good here, everything now working as it should. Thanks for the fix, nice and quick too!!
Airplay issue sorted following the latest update, it was a minor issue but thanks for the swift fix.
Fixed for me with regular build 1413.
Just had an hour and had no problems and my old sink issue with my AirPlay seems to be all in sink as well on build 1413 so Iām hoping Fixed for me so Iām happy agin.
Updated to 1413 and tested off Zeppelin, works again.
Thanks much for fix and quick response.
