One more with the same problem. I cannot Airplay to any endpoints (WiiMs, Sonos speakers, or HomePods) using Roon. This applies to all sources, both downloaded and Qobuz. I can still use a different transport to the same devices and/or Airplay directly to them using a non-Roon app.
How did this release make it through QA? And how come it was not rolled back a few weeks ago when these issues were first raised?
Maybe some miracle has happened. Yesterday I was airplaying from Roon using Geoff’s workaround when it suddenly stopped. After restarting Roon remote all internet radio stations were gone from Roon for some time. When they reappeared airplay suddenly functioned as normal for me. I hope that this is still the case tonight. Maybe some server glitch was fixed? However, I have not seen any official messages.

I am a longtime Roon user (Nucleus +) and have a number of Naim Mu-so and Naim Mu-so Gen 1 streamers at my home and stream Roon to these devices over Airplay. With the latest Roon software update, tracks do not automatically play when loaded -- the tracks show as loaded and but do not play. I usually have to forward to another track, then "track back" to original to get the track to play. This seems like a software glitch with Room. Please advise on when this will be corrected. Rebooted my router and Roon Nucleus this morning and Airplay seems to be working and back to normal (but holding my breath for the next day or two until I see if things stay that way…)

UPDATE: I spoke too soon, problem came back after 5 minutes!!!
Same issue, though this is happening when playing on my Airplay devices (things behave normally on my DAC connected directly to my Mac Mini Roon server). As stated in the original post, pressing “play” won’t start the track. I have to click somewhere on the waveform display or press forward/back to get the song to start.

I updated to RoonServer 2.0 (build 1407) the other day and I now have ALL of my AirPlay devices failing to deliver any sound.
The AirPlay devices are all wired line out. Input is AirPlay from the RoonServer.
I tested 2 AirPlay devices (Airport Express, WiiM Pro Plus) using iTunes and they both worked fine but will not work with Roon.
I have a Sonos Roam which works fine via Sonos streaming.
After the AirPlay issue started I set up a second instance of the WiiM Pro Plus (Linkplay Technology Inc.) configured to line output to our Nuvo 6-zone audio distribution system which works fine.
In summary I have 1 WiiM Pro Plus with 2 different configurations, one of which delivers sound and one (via AirPlay) which does NOT deliver sound. I also have 2 AirPort Express devices which now are not delivering sound.
RoonServer is installed on a mini-pc running Linux... Description: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS Release: 22.04 Codename: jammy
Regrettably, miracles do not exist. I am still using Geoff’s workaround.
Roon using airplay is stll not a happy marriage. I hope Roon will fix this (in the new update).

Since the latest update play of a playlist does not start when I press the play button. I have 1)press the play button 2) skip back to previous list item (which then starts playing) 3) skip forward back to the item I wanted to start with. Also, the shuffling algorithm throws up very frequent double-plays of items.

Though I do love the support, this has been dragging out for quite sometime.
With the issues with RoonArc on older iPhone, CarPlay issues, and loosing ability to play music on my Juke Amp for a MONTH, questioning the subscription.
Adding mine to the list of issues where Roon Build 1407 no longer works with AirPlay items. Cannot play to individual AirPlay endpoints (in this case, Naim Muso 2, Muso 2 QB, and Sonos Move).
And cannot play in group mode either, which is a shame, because that’s the feature I use the most is to combine my Airplay endpoints for full-house sound. Haven’t been able to do this for weeks now and just now getting into the community and seeing that this is a known issue.
Yes, same problem here. Our Sonic Transporter i9 was working perfectly with four Airplay devices and now nothing works with Airplay. I am using Apple Music to get us through for whole house playback while a fix is being found. No worries with single room playback via our Lumin U1X (not in Airplay mode). Cheers.
