Do you have Tidal and Qobuz? If you donāt, then there are no Streaming Service Preferences because there is nothing you could prefer over the other.
And if you only have Qobuz, then I donāt know if there are MQA preferences.
I donāt know if you should at least have the āCleanā option in any case.
This is with both Tidal and Qobuz in my Roon build 1405 (Early Access):

Hello,
A few days ago, Roon automatically updated to version 2.0 build 1407 production 64 bits. Until this version, everything was working perfectly. Since the latest version, it has been very difficult and random to start playback on my AirPlay devices "MUZO Cobblestone" (brand and model Octavio Stream).
How can I quickly remedy this issue? In the meantime, is it possible to reinstall the previous version?
Thank you for your responses.
Roon server is running on PC windows 10. Music is store on a QNAP NAS. Playback on 4 AirPlay devices "MUZO Cobblestone" (brand and model Octavio Stream). These four devices are wired on three extenders ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12. Network is very fast and stable.
So far I only know about AirPlay problems. I have not had a chance to test my system that is directly connected to my nucleus. I have been able to stream to my devices using an iPad and the Naim app so I know it is not a problem with the receiving units. I have also been able to AirPlay from the same computer to the Naim units using the Tidal app.

Iām in a similar situation. It started with my Apple Play enabled receiver stopping playing after about one minute. Then not playing at all. Then my wiim 2 devices stopped playing. They all show up on my list. I disabled them all and re enabled them this did not help. Updated firmware on my receiver. No help. The music shows as playing but the time bar does not move from zero. Sometimes they work fine. A work around that sometimes works is to play the music to my phone(which seems fine for now), and then swap to the endpoint that I want. This has all occurred since the latest update.
My roon core is running on a 2019 iMac, OS is up to date and has not been updated during the time of this issue occuring.
I have some Chromecast endpoints that do not seem to be affected.
I hope this can get fixed now that roon has more time and resources to dedicate to the software. After joining forces with Harman.

This morning May 3, 2024 I noticed that my Roon installation is not playing in my local network vis AirPlay.
I am using Roon Server Version 2.o build 1407 on an Mac Mini 2018 3GHz Intel i5. Mac OS 12.7.3
Roon does play via RAT but not via AirPlay. For example, Roon plays with RAT but not airplay to BlueSound Node.
Roon does not play via airplay to other AirPlay specific endpoints. AirPlay endpoints are recognized as endpoints within Roon, but do not play. I tried deleting and restarting AirPlay endpoints but no fix.
I deleted the Roon App and reloaded a new copy. Still no AirPlay function.
Air Play is fuctional via iTunes, or Arc via iPhone via AirPlay to AirPlay endpoints.
Please advise.

I have neither. Yeah, I get your Streaming Service Preference emphasis.
I was hopeful that it was a General setting that had some effect on this overall Roon Airplay black hole of despair. (snarky Roon Support comment redacted)
Iām also still issuing problems with Airplay. They ask my password, which I forgot, because I was never asked the past three years, until now. I need to find out how to reset everything, but as I read it wonāt solve the problem.
I also mentioned already before, that Roon pauses when Iām on airplay but the equalizer on the volume settings is playing like it thinks thereās sound (but there isnāt
I donāt have any non airplay zones right now

The MQA setting is present with Qobuz only subscription (there are some MQA albums on Qobuz; such as 2L titles).
Hi @Steam_Punque,
I have Roon 2.0 build 1407.
At settings ā general the last option (scroll to the end) is, for me, the MQA behavior (and I donāt like MQA).
Itās the last setting in your screenshot, so below the part you highlighted.
9t is now āPrefer anything else over MQAā, you can change that in that you prefer MQA above everything else.
I know, there is some mental barrier to say that you prefer MQA
Iām in the same boat, all working fine until build 1407. Iāve got an Audio Pro Link 2 which is casting to three other Audio Pro devices. I can send to the Link Pro 2 with Chromecast but then it doesnāt play on the other speakers, which it does with Airplay. My workaround is to use a Squeezebox Touch to receive the Roon playback and then into the analogue inputs on the Link Pro 2.
The workaround doesnāt work for me.
Thanks. āMQA above allā helped with my Marantz Airplay, but Bose Soundtouch Airplay speakers are still silent.
Thank you Martijn. Since I am not using Roon to access a streaming service provider with MQA content, my Roon GUI does not offer an MQA setting.
I have a similar issue, but I cannot find my ticket to support anywhere.
I (used to) isten to Internet Radio every evening.
Hi BJ,
Your workaround also worked for me. Butā¦in your words āā¦miserableā¦ā
I hope this gets fixed. If Roon canāt stream internet radio to my airplay speakers then it loses its value to me.
Same issue here on B&O M5 speakers and airport express. This is really not acceptable Roon team!
If your last update creates a bug that breaks some of the most essential parts of your services, you rollback the change asap and look for a fix on your side, instead of leaving the issue active for all your users!
Highly disappointed by this last update and how the team us handeling this!
I still have the same issues playing to endpoints via airplay. I can confirm:
