Hi
First off, Robert you are an incredibly patient fellow, I’ve had the same issue over the last 48 hrs or so and am already reaching boiling point. I can play to BS using Bluos app, but Roon no longer sees my endpoint along with other problem(can’t see ROCK on my laptop network anymore). should i start a new Support thread, if so how?
I had a very recent issue where I couldn’t link my Bluesound zones in BluOS but could in Roon.
It all came to a head when my Wi-Fi stoped all together forcing me to re start my router.
Now all works as expected in both BluOS and Roon
I suggest you start a new thread for your system just in case the problem you are experiencing is different than mine, even though the symptoms are the same. You know, I started this thread so long ago that I now don’t recall how I started it! I believe I clicked on the support tag and wrote up the problem. You can also reference this thread - since the symptoms are the same.
This is pure speculation on my part - it is my guess they found a significant issue and are working with Bluesound on it. The only difference in my system between when it was working and when it wasn’t, were two Bluesound firmware updates so I have always been suspect about them. Although this is a “hard” problem now, that is, it clearly is not intermittent, before it became hard I found that occasional reboots of the Bluesound equipment was required as sometimes Roon just couldn’t find it. It was clearly aggravated with firmware updates from Bluesound.
BTW, one thing to try is doing a soft reboot of your Bluesound gear. You can do that through the Bluesound app under HELP - Diagnostics - Reboot. You can reboot all of your devices there.
Overall, the entire Bluesound experience has been pretty disappointing. First I discovered the Bluesound app was extremely limited in spite of all the hype, then this problem came up. If I had to do it again, I’d spend the extra money and buy the Bryston unit. The older BDP-1 I have is rock solid, the processor in it is a bit slow by today’s standards, but still it is a rock solid player. The fact is Roon is what makes digital audio worth dealing with.
@john John, my one year subscription ends in two weeks. Since I have been unable to use Roon since April, a total of 6 months, I really believe you should grant me at least a 6 month membership once this is fixed. Otherwise, I am forced to renew a subscription for something that does not work - I really like Roon but renewing under those conditions is unacceptable to me. Thanks, R
