Description of Issue

I installed the Roon Core on a Synology DS720. Thats ok.
I have my musicfiles on another Synology DS412 in a shared folder.
The name of that folder MUSICFILES
So the networkpath: \DS412\MUSICFILES

I am able to make a network share on windows. It works fine.

But I cannot make that same share in Roon.
I try:
STORAGE
Add networkshare
I tried with \DS412\MUSICFILES
Also with \IP Adress\MUSICFILES
With the correct username, password.

But after pushing adding networkshare i constantly get an error.
there is an unexpexted error.

What to do?

If you have the storage space available on the DS720, I would put your local library there. It would be local to the core and perform better than remote storage.

Apps on DSM7 have no privileges to mount remote folders.
It can be achieved by mounting a remote folder to a subfolder that is accessible by RoonServer (e.g. in the Music or database share) with FileStation. See linked post below:
