When I click into Roon on PC iPhone and iPad it crashes after a couple of seconds.I just get the chance to see it’s wanting me to OK an update but it slips off the bottom of the screen before I can do anything.
I have a Nucleus Plus.I have tried rebooting the Nucleus , the router and the PC/Apple devices to no avail.

Dear Roon Team,
My Roon Core Machine is a Nucleus Plus (rev A ) Serial No 94C6911AF1E2
I don’t have any further information about it.
The Nucleus links via ethernet cable to a Netgear Prosafe Gigabit switch which is ethernet cable connected to a BT Hub Router. The broadband speed is 300Mb.
The switch is also connected to a Naim UnitiCore 434593 and a Logitech Transporter.
There are WiFi connections to 3 Logitech Sqeezebox Touches and an ELAC Discovery Z3 wireless speaker.
The connection to the UnitiCore was lost a couple of years ago and I have only used the system with Tidal since then.I only ripped about 20 CDs to the UnitiCore before Roon no longer found it on the network.
I could control the system from my PC which is connected by a Powerline to the Router,my iPhone 6SE and my iPad.
There is an AVG free antivirus on the PC.
This set up has worked for several years (minus access to the UnitiCore) with the need to reboot the Nucleus by switching off and on about every two months.
My problem is that when I click into Roon on the PC,the iPhone or the iPad,the home screen appears for about two seconds and then vanishes.
Please let me know how I can get it working again.
Many thanks,
Robert.
Hi @Robert_Moxom,
Thanks for these detail, they will help Roon support team when you request get to the head of their queue.
In the meantime let’s try to establish if the Nucleus is running ok and we can also try a troubleshooting experiment with your iPad.
On the iPad download and install a networking scanning app, I use fing.
Run fing and let is scan you network, it should identify the devices on your LAN and list their IP addresses.
Assuming it finds the Nucleus, note the IP address that been assigned.
Type in that IP address in a web browser, it should display the Web Admin page of the Nucleus.
Note what version number of Roon is running and also take a screenshot of it and post it here.
If it’s up to date expect it should be Roon 2.0 Build 1211.
What important is to make sure the Roon Remote are also running the latest version.
As there are crashing, I’d suggest (first on the iPad) uninstall the the Roon App, reboot the iPad and then reinstall the the Roon from the Apple Store.
Let us know how you get on.
Hello Carl,
I’ve accessed the Roon information using fing as you described.
I can’t see how to attach the screenshot I took but the info was :-
Operating System Version 1.0. (build 254)production.
Roon Server Software Version 2.0 (build 1128) production
Roon Labs Software Version 1.0 (build 12 ) stable
Roon Database and Settings OK
99% of 55 GB available.
It looks like it’s not running the latest software on the server. In the two seconds I get to see the Roon page before it crashes I can see it’s saying an update is needed.
I’ll try uninstalling the Roon app on the iPad and re-installing it fro the App Store.
Regards,
Robert.
Hello again Carl,
Deleting the Roon Remote app, rebooting the ipad and installing the app from the App Store has been a partial success. I now have access again but the app has only found this iPad,the Squeezebox Transporter and the Elac wireless speaker. It hasn’t linked to my three Squeezebox Touches.
So good progress thanks.
Regards,
Robert.
Copy / Paste into post or use the upload icon.
OK, that’s an older build, it sounds like the update is not completing.
On the web-admin screen, there’s an option to reinstall operating system … click that.
It will reload RoonOS and update Roon to the latest build.
, I suggesting doing same for any other remotes that are still having issues.
See what’s this is like after updating Core to Roon 2.0 Build 1211.
All sorted now Carl. I did factory resets on the Squeezebox Touches and reconnected to the router which allowed Roon to see them again.
All now up and running as normal.
Very many thanks for your help.

Robert,
