The reason I’m asking is that I am still in the collect feedback mode (it’s a Beta release still).
With HEOS players there’s usually no problems with volume. We are working on some issues still with AVRs that have multiple zones where HEOS and the physical control don’t match.
If you don’t use multiple zones on an AVR don’t turn on the AVR control and its should just work. If volume is not being controlled try restarting the app from the extension manager …
You should have the ability to control from the HEOS APP or from ROON (or indeed from the harmony remote but not at the same time I think) if it doesn’t work I may need to see how the Harmony connects to the player - only one controller can be connected to the port at any time.
This attempts to manage the issue that has been reported of AVR zone volumes not being controlled.
I have found this difficult to replicate but have made several edits to address what I think may be the cause. If this doesn’t do it I will release a version with additional logging to help trace the problem.
If you do see this please can you let me know the AVR type, whether it occurs only when the AVR is grouped and whether the AVR is connected by ethernet or WiFi. I
The issue only appears as a problem if you are using zone 2 of the AVR, and have AVR control set to on in extension → RHEOS → settings (which also allows control of the AVR sound mode and power on off of zones).
I’m interested to hear whether this is only is setups with multiple AVRs.
Please also try resetting the AVR (hold down the power button for 5 secs) and ensure in the extensions → authorizations → view that only one copy of RHEOS is enabled.
This is very stable on my systems so I need help in tracking down this bug.
My next task is to try to update installation and use instructions to improve clarity - and then hopefully we can move to the first official release (before the official roonready release of HEOS?)
Hi Peter I still keep getting volume issues where Roon doesn’t change anything at all and I have to restart extension . Also I can’t seem to change any of the settings anymore just reverts back to what it was after restart. Any ideas?
Also having the AVR control on and power on delay off still get a delay in starting and watching now playing this has a delay. It’s behind what tracks playing and switches after track starts. I just deleted and reinstalled RHEOS and turned of the AVR control and it’s now back in sync as is now playing. So something here is delaying the audio and now playing sync.
Thanks. I am trying to see what this may be. The only time I’ve seen the volume controls present but not changing the volume is when the extension has stopped improperly and an orphan device persists (if you are ably to view all processes running on the device you run your extensions on you may see some “ghost” squeezeplayers. This could also be affecting the inability to save the new settings.
Please let me know which settings you are trying to change and I will see if I can replicate the non-saving and whether this may be causing te extension to stop improperly.
I suggest you check that all authorizations for RHEOS are deleted and you uninstall the extension (rather than stopping/updating and restarting). This will provide a new token and config file which you can then set to your preferences. Any source controls will need to be updated and reattached.
If you are able to capture a log file if you run into problems I’ll be able to see any errors that are generated and what your settings are.
Am out for a couple of days but please let me know how you get on.
Any settings really. Was trying to add the artwork so I get streaming from LMS in heos app but that won’t activate, neither will the Volume on start or others.
Well it’s not been showing it in HEOS and metadata is on according to plugin and is on by default it seems . I’ll check it again as not tried it since last disable, uninstall and reinstall. But it wasn’t working before.
