Reverted image back to 0.8.6-0 which was stable.
I’d appreciate folks helping me test 0.9.1-x further as there are several features which improve performance for me and address recent request - but clearly it needs more testing!

.9.1.1 seemed ok to me, its only after that this all started
I’m just wondering if there is an unanticipated clash between the two. Something very odd. I have 0.8.6-0 running as expected on my raspberry pi.

Then its something on your end that’s changed and haven’t spotted. As you know this version was very stable. Any other changes? Share the 0.8.6-0 log if you can as we need to look for clues…
It doesnt crash it, its just doesnt play same as before sticks on 0:00 I have nothings changed other than standard debian apt updates.
Got it to work by restarting the extension again.
Good. Obviously not sure whats going on. Ill keep 0.8.6-0 there as the latest and continue testing 0.9.1-4 as thoroughly as I can hopefully with input from others.
I dont see any more errors in the log either.

You’ll see I reverted back to 0.8.6-0. I will be interested to see how that works for you and if it fixes your problem too.
@Simon_Arnold3 , @peter_richardson - I get this every once in a while usually after updating roon or rheos or any other extension like rooDial or macroon (I do not use extension manager) — this is where the track sticks at zero seconds and will not play… recycling usually does it BUT sometimes its that HEOS has a different understanding of what speakers are grouped and what are not grouped vs roon/rheos (not always, i think, i will watch for it more going forward)
for me, when it stops “playing” and stuck at zero seconds - I do a few things when i cannot get it working:
stop rheos
stop roon
in heos, group and ungroup speakers and play to get heos back to normal (and not in lms mode)
start up roon
start up rheos
get back to awesome listening features and remember, its a first world problem… 
ha
again, this is RARE and this is not specific to versions…
I think HEOS gets confused and is not in a proper state for either roon or rheos and neither side “knows it”
i dont have any groups, I have only one HEOS zone my amp, its never done this prior to recent updates. But I do find volume issues tend to happen after an update.

You’re using the test docker image correct?
Could you see what happens with 0.9.1-4 the latest. Its working well for me and as you know allows the refresh of players, faster loading and fixes the bi directional control which I had regressed (an I think would be useful for folks). However I don’t want this to cause crashes that can be frustrating.
Let me know how it goes for you and I am going to check additional platforms.

Volume issues are likely when the app has exited without shutting down the virtual squeezeplayers. When exited normally this is done and on restart it also refreshes these.
Its possible that if other programs create virtual squeezeplayers these could interfere. Its not been an issue to date but I would value any reports of this.
Will test it tonight when I am back at home… (since figuring out how to get the config file to persist between image updates, everything goes pretty swimmingly [if i didnt just jinx that] and I dont need to disable/enable the extension, just cycle the image and force download of the latest image in portainer…
@Simon_Arnold3 - I stopped using zones because denon had a refirb sales on s660h and you could stack discount codes - got one for $144 ish before tax etc - crazy…
@peter_richardson is the volume bumping around issue fixed with saved groups in this release, I will test that too over the weekend if so…
PS - yes, I run both your rheos and roon as docker images on Synology NAS and isolated to an ‘entertainment’ macvlan only (also the rooExtend roodial and the macroon macro tool too, plex and minimserver all on this macvlan) -

I’m starting to feel like a complete idiot, but let’s walk through this…
DONE (and I didn’t know this requirement) – Make sure all receivers are switch on and both zones are switched on as well.
DONE – Go to Settings → Extensions → View and Remove all RHEOS authorizations.
DONE – From extension manager Stop RHEOS and remove then reinstall. Version should be 0.9.1-4 (Don’t forget to save after each step or it wont take effect)
DONE – Then Start RHEOS.
DONE – Go to Settings → Extensions → View and Enable RHEOS. Only one version should be running.
Go to the RHEOS extension settings.
DONE – Check Enable AVR zone control is ON (if it isn’t select and save).
Nothing below is working and no zone 2 devices show in the queezebox area…
Go to Settings → Audio → Squeezebox and make sure there is a player for the Receiver itself and Main Zone and Zone 2 (Main Zone and Zone 2 are only created when the Zone is turned on on the receiver). and they are enabled
Then go back to device setup for the AVR (not Main or Zone 2). Clear any previously attached source and volume controls by selecting “Load Defaults” from the top corner.
You should then be able to attach the appropriately named Main Zone, Zone 2 and Source control and Volume control for the AVR by Add external source control or volume control.
Save.

Ideally starting with the AVR on and Heos playing from each zone can help (but isn’t essential).
First you are trying to add all the source controls to one of the AVRs.
Choose Garage AVR - then add source controls Garage Mani Zone and Garage Zone 2 only to that AVR.
Patio - do the same etc.
That should the allow you to go to the paler an click on the AVR “power button” - this should then turn on the AVR if its off. There should be two additional controls for the Garage Main Zone and Garage Zone 2 - click on those and it should turn on the AVR zone and switch to HEOS (ROON) output. If you have not enabled in squeezebox they come up as unnamed and you need to edit the displayed name.
DO NOT try to do anything with the AIRPLAY zones.
