I am fairly new to Roon. I played a Roon radio station for 5 hours today and then tied to switch to shuffle my albums, but the song wouldn’t play. I had to reboot the Nucleus. This has happened before after playing music for an extended time. Is this typical?
This isn’t typical, David. Like all software, issues can occasionally arise with Roon that require a reboot of the core or Nucleus, but it shouldn’t be happening regularly. I generally only reboot my core following a Roon update. If it is happening frequently, then you should definitely log it with the support team.
You shouldn’t have to reboot but equally you shouldn’t be afraid to do so.
I live in South Africa where we are currently experiencing inconsistent power supply so my NUC/ROCK is rebooted often twice a day , not sure if it helps or hinders but certainly seems to do no harm
Hey @David_Proud,
Ben with the support team here, I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you were still running into issues with your Nucleus?
If so, could you please share the specific date and time the next time you run into this issue? With that, some additional system info from you would be helpful too:
Roon Core Machine
Include your operating system and machine info (Model, CPU, RAM)
Networking Gear & Setup Details
Your network gear (model of routers/switches) and if on WiFi/Ethernet
Connected Audio Devices
Specify what devices you’re using and their connection types, like USB/HDMI/Chromecast, etc.
Number of Tracks in Library
Tell us how large your music library is, eg. “30,000 tracks”
Description of Issue
Tell us about the problem you’re having in as much detail as possible. Screenshots are always appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi Ben,
Thanks for reaching out. I have not experienced the problem since posting the issue. I’m thinking the reboot of my laptop, modem and the Nucleus solved whatever issue there was. If it reoccurs, I will provide the details. Thanks again.
-David
