@Rugby Is this still on for Monday, Sept. 1st (Labor Day)? I notice Roon has removed the banner announcement in the Community…
Was wondering the same thing….
I assume so since there hasn’t been word saying the opposite.
Though there have suddenly been several IPv6 related support cases, so I wonder if it hasn’t already happened, possibly staggered
I think it happened when they released B1554 ![]()
A staggered release would have been a good idea though.
I don’t think the test pool for EA1553 was big enough, and those who were on it may have the knowledge and already have their networks setup in a way that this change may not affect them. My ISP Doesn’t offer IPv6, so it’s disabled on everything.
Or the big turn on will be on Monday and ![]()
we don’t end up like a fishing trawler caught up in a hurricane and sunk.
I’ll get the popcorn eating panda on standby though ![]()
I’ve noticed these, too. It could be changes to Roon Server / client were made in readiness for infrastructure changes.
Have they already gone to IPv6? Roon suddenly doesn’t work anymore, even after a fresh install.
@Alain_Francois, if you’re experencing problems, it’s best to open a Support ticket using this link.
This thread is for general discussion. Thanks.
To everyone noticing issues, i am one of those who has been affected. It is ipv6 related as something was reverted on my profile at the Roon end to fix it and the initial message i received asking me to try it again stated it was due to the ipv6 changes (this was later edited to say ‘code changes’). It was happy again for a while. I have an active support issue open right now as whatever they rolled back has now gone back and im without Roon again. ![]()
@Rugby , if you hear otherwise, please let us know. There’s a lot of anxiety from numerous subscribers regarding this update, and being a federal holiday in the USofA seems like odd timing. I assume most of the Roon staff will be out of office. Thanks very much.
They did say that this would be a gradual rollout starting in September I believe. So hopefully not a big issue that it is a holiday on Monday.
when this thread came out, I checked with my ISP and it appeared IPV6 was not rolled out in my area, I got 0/10 from the test.
Today I contacted Spectrum and they said they do have IPV6 and I re-configured my router to “Auto Config” and now my IPV6 test is 10/10, so it looks like I’m up and running, no problems yet, I’ll try dropping devices and reconnecting, but so far so good. Are there any specific issues we should look for ?
@Rugby , I guess that settles it. Too bad we couldn’t get an official answer how this will proceed from Roon.
“Please note that in observance of Labor Day Holiday in the United States, most of Roon staff will be out of office on Monday, 9/1/25. We will be returning to our regular support schedule on Tuesday, 9/2/25. Thank you for your understanding.”
I can still remember how to use JRiver ![]()
Hello all. I remember seeing a post here from the Roon admins about a network change coming soon. I think they said rollout in early September. I’m trying to find the post but not having any luck?
I’m curious if it will have any effect on how Roon software and Roon ARC run.
Thanks in advance if anyone has been testing this and have the new release installed.
Spence
I think it this one.

Thanks Mike. Yes, that’s the post I remember. Since it says it improves reliability, I’m curious if anyone has given any feedback yet. I know it’s early, so I’m not expecting much just yet.
Users in Early Access testing got it already and gave feedback but it was generally just “no changes” - which may well be only the expected result if everything had been reliable to begin with.
I’m totally fine with “no changes” because Roon and Arc run great for me.
Or the EA testing was a placebo to see if there were any underlying issues with the EA testers networks, as a means to see if the official change did cause issues, then this could be accountable to the change ![]()
