· I am using my Ayon S-10 (Roon Ready) for 7 years with my Rock (Roon Optimized Core Kit). Due to a different issue I did a "factory" reset two days ago. After the factory reset, Roon is now no longer connecting the my streamer. Error Message: "Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet completed certification for this device". This cannot be true after 7 years of flawless service.

· Rock and Ayon S-10 have a wired connection to separate router. Those routers are connected via an AI wireless mash.

Do you mean the Ayon S-10 II?

I ask because the original S-10 was never really Roon Ready certified and Ayon decided NOT to get it certified, according to an Ayon user that spoke with them. The S-10 II IS certified and listed on the Partners page.

I think that the original model was one of those that advertised Roon Ready before actually receiving certification of such. Sometime ago, Roon stopped allowing devices which actually did not receive Roon Ready certification from being enabled, or, re-enabled. Dear Daniel and Noris, many thanks for your interest in this case. After a lengthy discussion with Ayon that was led and facilitated by their main Swiss distributor / dealer, the outcome is as follows: Resetting to factory settings is actually tantamount with disabling and re-enabling Roon on the S-10 Ayon denied any warranty and did not offer any goodwill in that matter Due to the adjustments to the Roon licensing model - as quoted by Rugby in this threat - they see no “fault” on their side …

Thanks for reaching out. @Rugby is correct here, the S-10 v1 was not Roon Ready certified, as mentioned in the linked thread. I’ve escalated your case to our partners team to see if there’s anything we can do to help, though I cannot make any promises.

No, it’s an original S-10. I know it never was certified Roon Ready, but it did go through Roon Ready integration. This is what @noris did to get another S-10 working with limited functionality from the included link, and I’m hoping the same can be done with mine.

While the Ayon S-10 has never officially passed certification, it did have an initial round of Roon Ready integration completed. In the initial round, basic music streaming was completed, but full volume control and sync between other Roon zones with the Ayon S10 was not completed. Thanks for your patience here. I spoke to our partners team and we have gone ahead and enabled the basic streaming ability for your S-10 device. Please keep in mind the aspects mentioned in my previous message:

In the initial round, basic music streaming was completed, but full volume control and sync between other Roon zones with the Ayon S10 was not completed. As such and to provide you with a slight benefit of this testing, we have gone ahead and enabled the basic streaming aspect of the Ayon S-10 for your account, if you reboot your Roon Server twice, it should now be operational.
