Roon unable to connect to Ayon S-10 after factory reset (ref#Q3JB18)

many thanks for your interest in this case.

After a lengthy discussion with Ayon that was led and facilitated by their main Swiss distributor / dealer, the outcome is as follows:

  • Resetting to factory settings is actually tantamount with disabling and re-enabling Roon on the S-10
  • Ayon denied any warranty and did not offer any goodwill in that matter
  • Due to the adjustments to the Roon licensing model - as quoted by Rugby in this threat - they see no “fault” on their side
  • The S10 Original will not be licensed as “Roon ready” in the future
  • The only option I was offered was a very costly trade-in for an S-10 mark II.
  • I will not pick this option - due to the associated cost
  • I also would like to point-out the fact that even in the manual of my S-10 Roon is explicitly mentioned as a remote App.

From my point of view, Ayon’s reaction is very disappointing.

So, two questions remain to be asked:

  • Is there anything I can do to make it work again?
  • Is there anything that you - Roon - can do or offer?
