Roon App says under the Arc tab that my server has been confirmed to be securely accessible by Roon ARC. When I launch ARC app, it only searches for Roon core. It never finds the core. How can I help ARC find the core? Thanks

Hi @Patrick_Gallagher1,
Thank you for your patience while we worked through the queue. Do you have this problem with ARC while outside your wifi (i.e. using cellular data)? If so try disabling the Private Address feature found in Settings → Wi-Fi, then, with your Wi-Fi network, tap the “i ” icon.

Thanks for responding. I am unable to connect via WiFi, either my own network or when on another network or with cellular. Not sure if that helps. Where is the private address settings located? Wasn’t sure if this was on the room app, my phone or my WiFi settings. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Thanks.

This is in your phone settings. Under WiFi next to the network there is a blue “i” in a circle. Tap that and it will bring up the settings for that network. In there, you will be able to toggle off “Private Wi-Fi Address”. Make sure to only do this with networks you trust like your home network.

Darn no change. ARC is still stuck searching for the server.

I have been without Roon ARC for a month with a similar problem, and support has been sadly lacking Roon ARC on iPhone 15 not working after build 1353 - #46 by connor

Interesting. I’m using Iphone 15 as well.

Hi @Patrick_Gallagher
Can you try using your Mac as the core to see if that works as expected? You can use the instructions below.

  • Make a Backup of your current Roon Database
  • Install the Roon app on the other PC
  • If you have an existing installation go Roon Settings -> General -> Disconnect
  • On the Choose your Roon Server screen, select “Use this PC”
  • Do not restore your old database yet
  • Verify if the same issue is occurring on the other PC

Daniel,

While following your instructions I discovered what might be the problem. Roon ARC was linked to a different email that I had used previously during a free trial. Once I reset passwords and triple checked account information, ARC found the server. Success! I should have realized the problem sooner. Sorry for the bother and thanks for the help.
