Description Of Issue

This problem just started occurring today on the following album streamed from Tidal via Roon:

Stephen Inglis - “Cut the Dead Some Slack (Deluxe Edition)”.

I have played this album many times via Roon without a problem. However, today when I play the album, Track 1 (Scarlet Begonias) which should be 7 minutes 56 seconds long plays for around 2 minutes 18 seconds and then skips to track 2.

No changes to my network/playback system have occurred since it last played successfully a couple of days ago. I have tried playing the album via the Tidal app rather than Roon, and on Tidal the track plays all the way through which would indicate that the problem lies with Roon.

Actually, it appears that most tracks on this album are now truncated. I haven’t experienced this problem on any other album (so far).

@support - Any help appreciated.

Thanks

It’s Tidal. I’m having the same trouble, this morning.

Same thing happened to me this morning on Tidal streams. Stored music plays just fine.

But is it Tidal?

This has happened to me so far on just this one album, and the album tracks play all the way through when I play the album using Tidal’s own app. Have you tried this with the albums you have found to have the issue this morning?

No, didn’t bother. I figured it was a Tidal issue and moved on to something more important.

I have the same issue, on multiple albums…

Came here cos I’m having the same issue with a few tracks. I tried one of the tracks in the Tidal app and it played fine, but repeated tries in Roon had it skips to the next track less than half way through.

I’m also having this issue. Roon skips to next track on my Tidal playlists. I noticed that it doesn’t happen if I have imported the track from Tidal into my Roon library.

Edit: Happening on imported Tidal tracks as well. Just tested :frowning:

It happens on imported Tidal tracks for me.

Hi @hmack,

Thanks for the report here. I can reproduce your findings on my end.

@DanielAvasilichioaei/@Steve_Gerrard/@Ninja_Theory/@John_Aiello - Can you please provide a few examples of other tracks that display this behavior?

Thanks,
Noris

Any track on these albums:

  • John Surman & Jack DeJohnette - Invisible Nature
  • Keith Jarrett - Treasure Island

@noris - sample
Artist - Yuko Mabuchi
Album - Plays Miles Davis
Track - Blue In Green (Live)

(Actually, every track exhibits the same issue)

This Sonny Rollins track was the one I tried repeatedly.

It just did it again on Shpongle “Once Upon The Sea Of Blissful Awareness”

For me it happened on two albums:

Stranger Things Have Happened - Seamus Blake
The Call - Seamus Blake

I didn’t try any others.

Another Sample:
Sonny Rollins
Album - “Rollins Plays for Bird”
Track - “Kids Know”

*see above
Seems Sonny is having a bad day.

And Miles Davis “Flamenco Sketches”
Is it just on longer tracks maybe?

Seems that you’re right @Steve_Gerrard I put on The Police’s Synchronicity, and it’s playing perfectly. No long tracks there.

Hi noris

I’ve been playing Roon radio today, so didn’t take note of the songs that were playing in general. Here are a few that I did take note of:

Depeche Mode, Blasphemous Rumours https://i.imgur.com/WTEQtGQ.png
Lawnchair Generals, The Truth https://i.imgur.com/2JsGcJY.png
Benny Blanko, Put Your Hands https://i.imgur.com/xLG9k3R.png
Mr. V, Jus’ Dance https://i.imgur.com/1YcFmY4.png
The Maneken, Run https://i.imgur.com/DA086p0.png
Depeche Mode, Two Minute Warning https://i.imgur.com/7UKow9k.png
Trentemoller, Le Champagne https://i.imgur.com/pEmQNmf.png

I’ll update this post as I note tracks that skip/cut.
