Roon Smart TV Dac

I have a smart tv TCL and optical audio output to Atoll MS120 Roon Ready.
I use Roon for my music and streaming and it works perfectly.
Is there a way to controlling with Roon also the TV audio to Atoll Dac?

Control what? Roon is an audio player, it plays audio. If you play audio from Roon over the network to the Roon Ready input on your DAC then Roon doesn’t know anything about the TV and its existence. Roon is not a home automation system.
You can look into Roon extensions, maybe there you can find inspiration or even an example that works for you too. Look into Professional Home Automation and Roon API.

Does the TV have AirPlay? Roon may detect it as an AirPlay device.

If you have an Apple TV, you can download the TV:Remote app.

Thank you very much but i didn’t understand.
I’ve got a smart tv TCL and i’d like to capture audio output with Roon and then go to the roon endpoint that in my case is an Atoll MS120

If you like the do-it-yourself approach and/or already posses the hardware:

If not then read this:

You would get horrendous delay with any of those methods. Audio is delayed by about 8-10 secs it would be unwatchable.

Why would you want to exactly ? As @BlackJack mentioned Roon can’t control the TV at all. Going out of TV to the DAC via optical is the optimum route for this setup, bypassing Roon. Roon has no input facilities other than community add ons none of which are suitable due to the large delay to the audio due to capture and routing, this can’t be avoided and would be so far out of sync it would be unwatchable.

That is why I analyzed my needs and chose an external DSP solution where and for what I needed it so I can listen trough my audio gear with and without Roon (and its DSP section).
If one needs DSP to make it sound (good) then one is most always better off with some standalone DSP hardware (like MiniDSP for example) that allows one to make use of the optimization with any input source (which Roon might be one of them). Even additional ADC/DAC steps and/or limited resolution because of the DSP processor limits may go unheard in such cases (still sounds better than the uncorrected chain).

If you are able to connect the Atoll to the same network as your Roon server, then it should be able to see it directly with or without the TV (the TV is irreverent here)

If the goal is to use the TV as a controller, there isnt an easy solution at the moment (unless we have a Roon Remote app for GoogleTV)

The op wants to route the audio via Roon to his Atoll. Which you can’t do. Well it’s possible with 3rd party extensions but they add such a delay it’s not worth it and it’s adding a lot of extra steps and kit to achieve it. I assume he is wanting to leverage Roons DSP.
