Description of Issue

Got an update notification from Roon. Clicked to take update. Now Roon won’t open. Hard reset (power I/O cycle) along with computer reboot: no affect.

Hi there from a fellow user, recommending to check if you may have overlooked to also update your remotes to current versions.

The notifications I get from time to time read “…one or more of your devices…” wants updating, and provide a click button to do the update. I did this as I have always done. Roon will now not open. NUCLEUS re-start doesn’t fix it. My network and router are functioning normally.

I’m not owning a nucleus (or NUC with Rock, for that matter), but maybe you could enter its Web Administration Interface and check/remedy problems there.

If, after that, you still can’t access the Nucleus from your remotes, manually download and install current versions on those devices.

And if that finally doesn’t get you up and running again, I’m out of ideas.
In that case, you’d have to wait until you’re up in the @support queue, or for other members’ suggestions…

Hey @PaulG,

Ben with the support team here, are you able to access the webUI of your Nucleus?

If you could post a screenshot of the webUI if you’re able to access it that would helpful! If not, are you able to connect the Nucleus to a monitor via HDMI, and reboot it?

I’ll be on standby for your reply. Thanks :+1:

I have been off-line since last Sunday and cannot get back into this until AT&T fixes our broadband.

I have found that the update altered the app such that my security no longer recognized it and detected a risk, thus disallowing the Roon load. The anti-virus created this mystery because it did not display an “ALLOW” prompt or even a risk notification. I think this is now fixed so that security will flag the issue in future. It is possible that a Roon update can do this, so it’s a good idea to check the security settings to determine if that is where the obstruction occurs. Just white-listing the Nucleus may not be sufficient to prevent this type of event.
Anyway, all good now.
