I’ve had enough of that. I think this strategy is absurd and means they’ll never fix it for real. The number of errors I encounter are, for obvious reasons, just a sample of the number of errors there must be in all my library, which, in turn, is a small sample of the problem for the whole Qobuz library. So, going one by one sounds like an endless task, although it is much better now

The problem is that I run into these “remaining edge cases” every two or three days. As a result, I can’t listen to an entire album. And a track that worked yesterday doesn’t work today. Unfortunately, this makes the Qobuz integration useless, and even though it’s not a problem on Roon’s end, I’d like them to put pressure on one of their TWO partners to offer a product that works.

Hi everyone,

An update here for those users who have reported issues in recent days. The underlying problem with the Qobuz content delivery network to Roon has been resolved.

We need to investigate remaining failures for two reasons:

There are ongoing reports of certain tracks not playing in certain regions. Qobuz needs to know which tracks are failing for multiple users because they can then pinpoint catalog problems and/or delivery network problems and resolve them.

This affects only a small handful of users so we ask those users to come forward here.

Other network problems can cause similar symptoms.

@Vitor_Goncalves, we took a look at server logs to see which tracks were failing, since your geographic location does not match the pattern of content delivery network null-packet problems via Akamai that precipitated the creation of this topic thread. In your case, we actually see network exceptions and HTTP failures during other activity that engages the Qobuz servers (like login, metadata, etc). We don’t see the hallmark content delivery traces that most users experience and that a few users still find with specific tracks.

Can you please elaborate on a track that has recently failed to play? We might need to suggest some more general network steps here to ensure a reliable connection to Qobuz’ servers.

@Nickpi, we’ve taken a look at the track you shared. Diagnostics show a network slowdown during buffering after a manual track transition to the Ella Fitzgerald track you mentioned. But it looks like the track then successfully delivered a few seconds later from the Qobuz servers on a second try. After that, RAAT received a manual track transition command from the endpoint itself, prompting it to play the next queued track.

We then see timeouts accumulating as Roon attempts to buffer the queue. This doesn’t rule out CDN problems with Qobuz, but the node serving your particular geographic region doesn’t have other reports of this problem since Qobuz rolled out a fix last month. Do you have any issues if you play this track to the system output?

Thank you for looking into this. My experience with Roon and Qobuz has been trouble-free until recently (very stable network, no dropouts, etc), when everyone started to report this failure to load tracks. That’s exactly what happened to me. However, I haven’t had this problem over the last couple of days, but will report it if and when it happens. I’m travelling for the next two weeks, so this is not the best time to do it, but thanks anyway.

Ambrose Akinmusire, Honey from a winter stone (album), Muffled screams (track 1) does not play for me “Playback was interrupted because a track failed to load”.

(and I do not understand how Roon and/or Qobuz can live with letting their paying customers down for so long….)

So I am reporting an issue as requested above.
Album and track and version not playing in Roon using Qobuz:

Album:Avonmore
Artist: Bryan Ferry
44.1kHz 24bit Version only
Track: Johnny & Mary
All other tracks are fine.

I’ve been dealing with Qobuz’ so‑called “top‑tier” service issues since mid‑March. I cancelled in April, and two months later there’s still zero progress. Truly impressive incompetence. Bye‑bye, Qobuz, the switch back to TIDAL has never been an easier decision.

@connor - it would seem that Qobuz’s CDN here in the Netherlands is particularly bad. I did a test yesterday playing tracks of the artist Libera.

89 tracks came from Qobuz albums (the rest in the test were local tracks). Of those 89, 45 failed to play - a 50% failure rate!.

It’s hard not to agree. I see on the Qobuz Club forum that the issue also occurs with newly released albums. This means that seven weeks (!) in, they are still “mopping with the tap open”, as we say in the Netherlands.

The Bryan Ferry track I reported earlier is now playing.
Here is another one that will not play from Qobuz:

Artist: Harry Styles
Album: Kiss All the Time. Disco Occasionally
Track: Ready, Steady, Go!

I think all other tracks are okay, checking. This is a 96kHz 24bit album, no other version available in Qobuz. (But it seems this issue only occur with hi-res tracks, this may have already been pointed out.)

Qobuz has become a real pita to use.

It’s good that I have TIDAL as well.

As a classical music listener Qobuz has many available albums that are non-existent on TIDAL which is a shame. Also Qobuz streaming (when it works), is a bit better.

I’m extremely disappointed and there’s really nothing that can be done. Seems like Qobuz do not want to resolve this issue.

Seemed the CDN issue was fixed, but just this evening, I noticed:

Artist: GoGo Penguin

Album: GoGo Penguin (Self-titled)

Track: Atomised

Not playing, just skipped over to the next track.

This is unfortunate, and now that Tidal has scrubbed all the MQA stuff, if this keeps happening, I might have to swap back too…

Forgot to mention this is the 96/24 version - the 44.1/16 version of this track works - the rest of the album works fine in 96/24, so it’s not a sample / bitrate issue.

Also forgot to mention, region is USA, Colorado if it matters.

Interestingly, last time it seemed that Roon ARC would still be able to play a track that Roon at home would not play when CDN issues were present. In this case, I’m getting an error just on that specific track in Roon ARC that says “Poor Connection” when the connection is fine, and the rest of the album will play fine. This is after logging out and back into Qobuz in Roon.

I can’t believe this is still happening after all this time.

The second track on Jeff Parker ETA IVtet’s new album “Happy Today” does not play.

There are many others. This is just the track that has me most annoyed today (because it is half of a two-track album).

Not sure if this is helpful but here’s another addition to the list. New single by Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr “Home to Us” on qobuz in 24/96 does not play. Tidal is unaffected as is the 16/44 on qobuz.

After all these weeks the same problems persist. When new music comes out there are songs that won’t play. And there is only hi-res versions available on many albums. The latest one is ROSTAM latest release. Two songs not playing and no AIFF version available.

I just confirmed that Atomized still won’t play here in the USA. Weird.
