Yes, same problem here with qobuz. Randomly numbers from randomly albums doesn’t work anymore. It’s not all the numbers from 1 sort of album but sometimes it’s 1 or 2 who’s keeping in a loop to start but doesn’t start on Roon. So it keeps searching for it but doesn’t going to start..
Hi @alex_h,
Thank you for the update. I understand you are working on the Qobuz backend issue.
However, I want to highlight something that may point to an additional factor beyond the general Qobuz problem: the same Qobuz account streams 24/192 FLAC flawlessly from my iMac on the exact same LAN (same switch, same ISP, same router, same Qobuz subscription). The stalls only occur when streaming through the Mac Studio M3 Ultra as Roon Core to my Dutch & Dutch 8c endpoint.
The signal path is: Mac Studio (1 Gbps, port 3) > TP-Link TL-SG108E switch > D&D 8c (100 Mbps, port 4). When I move Roon audio output to the iMac instead, identical hi-res tracks play without a single buffer drop.
This suggests there may be something device-specific or network-path-specific in addition to the general Qobuz CDN issue.
From my Mac Studio Roon logs (3-day session):
- 1,822 prebuffer sleeping events
- 90 poor connection warnings (kbps dropping to 2,700-5,600 vs the 6,400 minimum needed for 24/192)
- All stalls exclusively on 24/192; 16/44 plays fine at 100% buffer
- General internet speed from Mac Studio is 620 Mbps (fast.com) / 365 Mbps (Cloudflare CDN) - only Qobuz CDN is slow
I am happy to share full Roon logs or run any diagnostic tests if that would help narrow down whether this is purely the known Qobuz backend issue or something additional.
Best regards,
Ugur
I’m also experiencing this same issue. I’ve thoroughly debugged it in the logs and there have been numerous issues this week originating in the Qobuz CDN.
That being said there are definitely working versions available because the Qobuz app is able to play the same songs. Successful playback of music is the core of the Roon experience. As paying customers we need to see a resolution of this in the next build.
Today’s Failure (Mar 30, 12:07–12:25+): Zero-Byte Download Loop
The CDN is responding 200 OK, but Roon reads zero bytes of actual audio data.
The pattern
- Roon sends GET to streaming-qobuz-std.akamaized.net — CDN
responds 200 OK in 30–80ms - Roon gets the file length (e.g., 55.1 MB for qo/E732530C)
- But: request ended – first block: 0 blocks read: 0 download
speed: -256kbps - Roon immediately interrupts (missing block 0) and retries
- Infinite retry loop — qo/E732530C alone hit 1,759 retries (rid
1 → 1759)
Scale
- 4,334 zero-byte download attempts across ~18 minutes
(12:07–12:25) - 6 Qobuz files stuck in the loop: E732530C (1759), 157DD1D0
(967), C21EA308 (608), A097404B (573), 8E4990F1 (382), D0F35D78
(45) - 301 “block downloader too much time oklocked” warnings — the
cache manager is deadlocked - Multiple files stuck with accessTimeOut:True and bw limit:0kbps
(throttled to zero)
Yes very good info, thanks. I see more people have these problems. Sad that it’s around couple of weeks and not yet a solution. Just roll out a update who is same as previous because I didn’t had this problem with the previous update. The thing is, I did everything on my part to look for answers, re-install, check network settings, started a new library on Roon. Turns out it’s on Roon or qobuz.. come on guys
. If it’s not broken don’t fix it..
That would achieve nothing since the issue is upstream with Qobuz.
Hi @sme019,
We wanted to clarify whether or not you’d experienced this problem with sources other than Qobuz, like Tidal, KKBOX, or live radio services.
As mentioned above, the team is investigating a playback problem affecting certain Qobuz tracks. If you’re only having this issue with Qobuz, we can safely assume you’re encountering this known problem and the issue will shortly be resolved without further intervention on your part.
If you’re having problems with other sources, we might need to investigate your specific case more closely.
We’ll watch for your reply. Thank you!
me too….Roon is really problematic with Qobuz lately. Though It could be either service or both so not sure who to blame yet, and maybe even windows …who knows…
trying to play Earth Wind and Fire “I Am” album from Qobuz ( 96/24 )
…works fine with Qobuz Android app when playing on phone, and through Roon Arc when playing on phone
But nothing ever starts with Roon attempting to play this album from track 1 when trying to stream to Zen Stream like I do every day …When I try use Qobuz connect App in Windows , it can’t play track 1, nor track 2, nor track 3, but then it starts playing track 4 after it skips/jumps there
On Windows 11 Roon app I get nothing to play …just sits there…but if I try and start track 4 directly , Roon starts…and plays the rest of the album. What this is I don’t know but its nuts ! I focused on this song/artist because a playlist I have started with “In the Stone” track and it didnt work … playlist works fine if I skip that first song …I’ve rebooted my Nuc server often but could use help if there is a fix?
Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Everything is working except certain songs on Qobuz. I signed out and back in with now luck. Always the same songs.
Please, do the search first
. The current problem with Qobuz you describe is already heavily in discussion with at least one official ticket.
roon is keeping us posted for any news on that.
Hi @KentSJ,
It’s a known issue affecting many if not all Roon Qobuz users.
I’ve merged your 2 posts into the main tracking topic where Roon will post any updates.
I’m experiencing this problem as well. Certain tracks don’t play, and play of an album will resume on the next track after several minutes. The same tracks play without problem in the Tidal version, and in the Qobuz app.
While we await a solution to this problem, I wanted to comment on what Roon ideally should do when it encounters a track that it is having trouble playing. I do NOT want it to ignore the problem and skip to the next track.
I frequently listen to albums on Qobuz I haven’t heard before. I appreciate that Roon freezes when there’s a problem, which alerts me to the issue. We shouldn’t have to be monitoring Roon constantly to see whether the problem has occurred. I don’t want to miss hearing a track unknowingly.
Every second Qobuz track is pausing at the moment, which forces me to skip it.
No playlist, just an ordinary release.

Hi everyone,
Thank you again for your patience as our team works with Qobuz to resolve this issue.
To summarize, certain Qobuz tracks (not all tracks from Qobuz) are failing to play in Roon despite the playbar indicating that streaming has started. Playback arrests at 0:00.
Our developers are in direct communication with Qobuz to resolve the issue on the backend. They expect to have a fix prepared soon. We will share a timeline here as soon as we have more information. We’re truly grateful for your understanding in the meantime. Please be assured that we’re acting urgently behind the scenes.
I have the same issue - plays fine in native Qobuz app and in Lyrion.
Same issue here. Frustrating to be listening to Turandot with literally hundreds of tracks and playback just stops with the progress bar bouncing back and forth. Completely unusable.
The downside with Qobuz is they don’t communicate with third party developers when making changes to their APIs… they don’t communicate with their customers either. Best option from a streaming perspective, worst option from a customer service perspective. I feel sorry for Roon having to deal with them, but its taking way too long to sort this one out.
I am having that problem also and the skipping to next in the que happens a lot. Qobuz stand alone is streaming just fine.
<exactly the same issue as you: first racks freezes, the rest play perfectly…. and I just had paid for a lifetime sub… yeeez!
