Check whether you are on the fixed version (rooExtend 2.3.2). I had similar problems on 2.3.1 but the fixed version so far works good.
Anyway that won’t fix your other problem that looks like network problem…

@DrCWO ,@piotr_pekala
Thank you. It was interference with the surroundings that was causing this. I shifted the pi from behind the tea to side of the TV and the issue looks solved
Thanks for your advice
TV’s generate can an enormous amount of RF interference
It looked good, 15€ for shipping from denmark seufz but OK, i think this will be much more fun then the MS knob, so i bought it. Thanks! Now getting the license, looks rooExtend will be the final center destination for all things playing out of speakers/headphones for me
Been running Roon with the Nuimo for almost a year. Everything has worked great but last week the Nuimo volume control stopped working.
DAC - PSAudio Directstream DAC with volume control set to Variable and using the Directstream Bridge.
Roon ver. 1.8 build 1105
Roon Nuimo ver. 1.13
I have rebooted my Pi, local router, and Directstream DAC several times. Pause/Play works fine, just no volume control.
Turning the volume control shows the numbers on the Nuimo go up and down but no change to volume.
As an experiment I changed the RoonNuimo settings to control my KEF LS50W speakers. The Nuimo successfully controlled the volume on these speakers. Changed the settings back to have the Nuimo control the Directstream DAC and the volume control doesn’t work. The Directstream volume can be changed using the Directsteam’s Remote control.
Any thoughts?
An other one for sale

Did you also reboot your Roon server?
Try to set the streamer to DSP volume. It chains to have device volume but probably this did not work
The streamer is on variable, not fixed.
I accidentally turned the Directstream DAC off and when I turned it back on the volume through the Nuimo started working. I lost power last night and have several times in the last week due to thunderstorms.
Thanks for the reply!
Did anyone ever buy any of the Numio 3D printed mounts?
I had a look where to buy them and nothing came up, but links to this thread
If not available at a reasonable price I might get a friend to do some for me.
OK a friend of mine has printed me one and while it has no weight, it works nicely as the Nuimo weighs it down. It also makes it easier to view and turn so all good and another one is being printed.
So @DrCWO Is it considered OK to leave the Nuimo plugged in all the time or will the battery have issues from over charging or does it compensate. I guess it would be easy enough for me to pull the cable and plug it in as needed.
To be quite frank: I don‘t know. There is a charging control for the LiPo inside and it should prevent overcharging but I am not the designer
To be safe better unplug if it is full.
Thanks @DrCWO I was more interested in if they mentioned anything to you.
Was just looking to be lazy
FWIW: I printed one of the stands back when I got my Nuimo about 6 months ago, I tried unplugging it when full and found that it was dead almost all the time when I wanted to use it so I’ve left it plugged in for a few months now and nothing has blown up and it always works when I want it. Where I use it, it’s not an issue to have a cord, so it works for me.
Thanks for the info, a man after my own heart.
It’s why I wanted to put it on the stand in the beginning as the Nuimo keeps running out of charge after not using it in several days. I’m going to do the same as you in my study and I will unplug it in the living room where I spend more time so charge it more often.
A few Nuimos for sale on ebay Kleinanzeigen:
Hello DrCWO,
in your prerequisite list regarding rooNuimo project your are talking about a white Nuimo Control device. Is the white one really mandatory, saying there are differences between white vs. black device as of function/specs?
Thanks,
Rainer
There is no difference between white and black Nuimo devices.
Hi @Rainero,
white and black should be the same. But the elder Nuimos may have an old firmware that may have some issues with rooNuimo.
Here you find a desctiption how to update the Numo firmware.
The update is not easy for uneducated people. So be sure you can make it by your own. If not please let me know. Maybe I can help.
