Ropiee 2024.08/ Pi 4/ HiFiBerry DAC2 HD - Volume in Roon keeps resetting to 0?

Ropiee 2024.08/ Pi 4/ HiFiBerry DAC2 HD
Fresh image burn and install.

Roon Server 2.0 Build 1455, Mac mini

Wired ethernet connections, same switch even.

All seems to be set up properly and running.

However when I select this zone/ Ropiee ( no other devices grouped) and play a source (radio or local) the Roon Volume after a couple seconds sets to 0 no matter what level I set the volume too.

In Roon the Volume Setup for device in Device Volume.

In Ropiee the Audio settings are Audio USB on and all others off.

Anyone have and suggestions or can explain what may be happening?

Yeah, unfortunately this is a bug with the DAC2 HD.
This is known for a long time now (going back to 2021), so I’m pretty sure this will not be solved.

Maybe you can try using DSP Volume Control?

DSP volume works, but you still need to avoid having the hardware volume set to zero.

My way of doing this is here.

You only need to do this after a fresh install.
