Wasn’t aware this was one of the criteria for classical but after reading it, I completely understand.
Her previous album credits Ólafur Arnalds. Another artist who falls somewhere between electric and classical and someone who I really enjoy listening to.
Yes, I was on the side that this was classical or at least neo-classical. Jazz got pulled-in because that’s the way it’s listed in All Music when I looked it up (but I don’t know where All Music got it from). So, I assume the label distributed the work as classical, Qobuz / Tidal distributed it to Roon as classical, then Roon picked-up the “Jazz” genre from All Music and made the change. Roon should honor the label but .
@Rugby and I were discussing the usefulness of these things as recently. They go on really deep sale around the holidays as the new models get announced at CES.
Saw that. Very nice. Looks like it uses the same swivel mechanism as the old “iLamp “ which I’ve still got in a box stashed somewhere I should probably give it away to someone who has time to rebuild it into something useful.
Dan I hope you and your family are ok and haven’t been blown to Oz by Milton. I understand it made landfall near The Villages. If you still have reception we’ll look forward to hearing your experience at the weekly meet up.
In my mind the storm wreaked havoc but you and the local community were able to shelter in the lee of one of your speakers and stayed safe and sound …
Actually we are about 120 miles from the landfall in Sarasota, and 40 miles inland. We had 30mph winds with gusts up to 40mph or so and about 7 inches of rain. Made for a noisy night, but not a dangerous one here.
Some of my neighbors lost roof shingles, but I didn’t. I’m sure there are a few Palm trees felled. But that’s about it for damages.
Along the West coast of Florida though, esp. around Sarasota, the damages are massive.
Again, thanks for checking!
Dan

Good to hear, it was a lot lighter here than the doom mongers predicted.
Glad I was not near Sarasota though.
Looks like me schedule will prevent me from joining the meet tomorrow / today. I got a new desk but otherwise nothing in my system has changed. Look forward to the summary.
edit… and this is the album I want to share this week…
Today’s meeting will be at the same time as usual, 3 pm EST. So, crack open a beverage of choice, and join us if you can.
The chats revolve around Roon, other hardware/software audio topics, or just music. If you are having an issue with Roon, or, hardware or network setups, let us know and we will try and help!
Last Week @Sloop_John_B challeged us to present our 5 best cover versions.
Please keep in mind, everyone here is a fellow user like yourself; so this is NOT an official Roon chat.
“Save It For Later” Pete Townsend Originally by The Beat or The English Beat

Who knew the guitar tuning for this song was inspired by The Velvet Underground?!
These are my cover picks and some honourable mentions that came to mind when hearing the others picks. Counting down as we did in the chat and including some Youtube videos:
5 Devo - Satisfaction.
When I first heard it I hated it, now I love it.
4 Sinead O’Connor - Nothing Compares to U
3 Teddy Thompson - Poor Boy (Way to Blue - Nick Drake Tribute).
2 Jimmy and the Boys - I’m not Like Everybody Else
Late 70s cover of The Kinks song. When Jimmy (Ignatius Jones) sang it you could believe it.
