I am a classical listener. I like Roon for its stability, reliability and the supplied information.
But I hate Roon for its system with a search function coupled to a presentation of pictures!
The search with pictures is too slow and asks for too much time and energy. So I hardly use it.
In the classical field a usable indexation is totally different from the other categories.
Preferable is the ranking: Composer, Work/Opus, Artist. A second indexation can be: Early music, baroque, romantic period, contemporair. For a third option: concertos, chamber, solo. ETC.
The principal problem is that the quantity of works from a composer can be nearly infinite (for instance Bach, Mozart etc with their hundreds of compositions each coupled to dozens of artists).
And working with hundreds or more passing pictures is …unworkable.
The problem is very easily tackled with the possibility to work with maps and lists. Than you can scroll your items in very high speeds impossible to reach with the picture-modus.
It is the reason that I hardly use the beautiful Roon system. Pityful do’nt you think?
So I stay with my computer and streaming module with USB and my own programmed sticks and SSD’s! I make my own maps, lists and I like the pictures but I prefer the pictures to appear not earlier than the moment that I have already made my choice from the list.
Summarizing is my question not different from what I primarily get when I work in Windows or any other system but preferably coupled to the Roon blessings once the choice is made.
Please, please offer this map/list-possibility!
Then I can search my collection with the same comfort and speed that I am used to when I am looking to and choosing from my CD collection. It should make me completely happy with the Roon system and I should be just as glad like your other clients who use the search-system based on pictures.
PS: My request for the map-formula is typical for the classical genre. Not for the other genres.
For jazz e.d. I am happy with the picture-formula.
Thank you,
With regards,
