Hi,
How could I see the new Shanling EH3 on Roon?
As a bridge or as an endpoint?
It lacks Ethernet but has WiFi and BT.
Thanks

The EH3 is a streamer/DAC? Is there a reason you posted this in the Professional Home Automation category? Probably not, so I’m moving it to Audio Gear Talk
According to this product page it can do Airplay 1, so this should work in Roon. You should find it in Roon > Settings > Audio > Roon Tested

Nope it will be under Other Network Devices it’s not Roon Tested. Only Roon Tested Airplay devices show up anything else is under Other Network Devices.

All except upsampling because Airplay is limited to CD quality. And you can only create a grouped zone together with other Airplay devices.
Alternatively, it seems to be able to be used just as a DAC over USB. In this case you would have to connect it to some kind of computer that runs Roon or Roon Bridge. Then you can use it with Roon‘s native RAAT protocol and use full resolution.
Thanks a lot. So if I join a Rpi4 with Ropieee via USB, it becames a Roon Bridge?

I’m not an expert on this but you’d have to install Roon Bridge at least.
What is Roon Bridge? Roon Bridge is a software package that extends Roon's audio playback capabilities to other devices or computers in your home. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, including inexpensive embedded platforms like the Raspberry...

Update 04/03/17:
This guide was written in april 2016. While it is still technically correct, things have changed over time. These days, you may want to consider using DietPi or Ropieee as the OS for your Pi-based Roon Bridge.
With the advent of Roon 1.2, Roon Bridge has made its appearance: a nifty piece of software allowing to you create audio endpoints with machines otherwise underpowered to run ‘full Roon’. Roon Bridge relies on RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport) – Roon’s own audio distr…
Hi all,
First of all, sorry if the question is not completely new. I have found a lot of posts on this topic, but on one side some of them are relatively old, on the other side I could not find all the information I was looking for.
I am thinking of setting up a small Roon Bridge to be used with a USB DAC (a Chord Mojo). I am not looking for a DAC HAT for Raspberry, I already have a music streamer. I would like to use the Mojo in the main Hi-Fi system without having to connect a phone or a tab…
