This is my listening chair in my living room. Finally I received the Tulip side table by Eero Saarinen which fits the style of the Eames lounge chair perfectly (both are in palisander / black).
For critical listening to the loudspeakers the chair is moved in nearfield position and for headphones I use either my mobile set-up or a long cable to the main headphone stacks just around the corner (left to the mirror).
Just treated myself today to a Stressless chair and ottoman.
Love these but the $3000 price tag means I would never have bought one but…
Hanks here in Conway, Arkansas had made a bulk purchase of a few models and offering them at vastly reduced pricing.
So one Silver Grey Leather chair and ottoman is now in my room.
That looks real comfy! How’d move go and progress on new room?
All going very slowly unfortunately as found some more essential repairs needed before can make any progress on new rooms. ![]()
Looking very comfortable and cool
Shirley the speakers are too close to the corners?
Actually considering the rig and the room are all temporary and the chair cost about 4 times what the rig in there did I’m deeply impressed with the SQ.
Those little Wharfedales are kicking out the jams brothers and sisters ![]()
Even the stands are not optimal at just 24" height, needs my 28" stands from Florida house really.
We need pictures of your new digs. How many garage stalls do you have there?
Don’t think we have a thread for new houses yet though Jim
.
Garage space?
Um, about enough room for all my toys and then some

A good 6 car total
I have a similar looking model of the Ekornes Stressless chair. I really like that it’s available in three different widths. I ordered it in the narrowest version.
I thought it was funny that I used it for about 6 months before I realized that I could pull on the headrest and the chair would recline another 30 degrees or so, with the lumbar support activating.
I’m a member of the Ekornes Stressless users group. However it’s not considered “my” listening chair by all household members.
I love my stressless chairs but I found a low back smaller sized cloth recliner today. Noticeable improvement in sound stage not having the leather chair back behind my ears. Honestly I had been using one of the low back black chairs for a bit till I found something more comfy.
So, it only took two years, but I finally got my Eames replica. It’s a CurverK A+ Taller Ultra Premium version.
I would recommend this CurverK for anyone who wants an Eames lounge chair but doesn’t want to pay $7000 or more for an authentic Herman Miller. I paid $1599 (no freight and no tax) for this very high quality replica. You can get cheaper models for half the price of this one if that’s what you want.
Here is the Stressless Reno Classic medium size in Dark Olive I’ve had my eye on for a long while. They are expensive and I would need 2, one for me and one for my wife.
I was fortunate to buy mine literally half price, full price I probably would not have done it even now knowing how multiple hour long comfortable it is.
