I lived in lovely warm countries for 25 years

40c in Brive La Gaillarde was fine for me a few weeks ago, full leathers

When I lived in HK, I wouldn’t ride my MTB below 18c

Took a ride down to SoSo Cycles in Tacoma Sunday, at the urging of the Washington State BMW Riders (WSBMWR). SoSo was hosting their first annual bike show-charity event to benefit Bikers Against Statewide Hunger (BASH). Though the turnout was light, they did raise $1400. Other clubs represented at the event; South Puget Sound Ducati Owners Club, Triumph Owners of Puget Sound, The Cafe’ Racers Union, and The Litas Tacoma.

It was only a 75 mile round trip, but the traffic in the Seattle area is bad with a couple long backups, and it was a hot day at 94 F (34 C for the rest of the world).
I arrived home after an hour, and forty five minute ride. I didn’t do a very good job of parking.

The RG-Racing frame slider took the bulk of the weight. The only part of the bike putting any weight on the ground was the gear shift lever. Even so, I can find no damage anywhere.

No problem in the end. I had the neighbor pop over for help with a lift. I only managed to move it an inch on my own. Now I know how the bike handles this situation without the rear bags on.

Glad to hear the bike was relatively unscathed.

The easy way to lift the bike is to turn the bars so that the end of bar on ground is forward of the bike , bend down and hold the end of the bar and lift.

If that is too much then you face away from the bike with your bum into the seat and push backwards rather than up and the bike will come up.
Did it years ago on a bmw off-road thing, before I bought a ktm.

Plenty of videos on YouTube if my explanation is unclear.

Good, that the bike is okay!
Fun fact:
In Japan, you need to be able to lift a respective motorbike on your own in order to acquire a license.

Went for a spin into Wales, this might come as a shock, it wasn’t raining and what’s more the sun was out.

Nothing quite so exotic or picturesque here but another 90 degree morning with a 70 mile back road loop to nowhere in particular in the lowlands of the Ozarks.
And of course a stop at the ubiquitous Sonic for a French Vanilla Iced Coffee.

It’s been raining since about 11.00 , now 18.09 and forecast to stop about 21.00 hrs. :frowning:

Did you need finance for the iced coffee from across the road?

Inflation not quite up there yet😁

I’d never heard of the Ozarks

Looks (Google Earth) like there are some nice roads up there
