I like that Mac Pro!!!
Just something you probably already know, but donât use Time Machine to back up your Roon library.
It probably wonât Restore correctly.
Thanks for the warning. But I showed only a part of my set up, the whole picture is this:
I have all my music on one NAS with a second NAS as backup.
My first proper in ear phones were etymotic who are hearing aid specialists.
Ah ah Quad 11s or 12.
Lovely speakers I had a pair as temps during house renovation when my kit got âarchivedâ . They fished up as my 5.1 backs wth 21s as fronts
Always been a Quad fan, 33: 405 , ESL 63 etc . Nostalgia ainât what it used to be
this is an SE, i have a classic knob transporter in the main system. theyâre still available, used and new, at prices ~$400.
in the office system, Iâm using it as a digital transport. downstairs, as a streaming dac (analog out). in either. in either mode, it sounds much better than similar products such as a BlueSound Node.
you have to relay on DHL for⊠water?
oh, right: you shipped to someone the cup
This is what we ended up with when I retired. Had the home office space converted to a bedroom suite for my aging mother and squeezed/downsized to mini desks into our bedroom. My space is on the right side. Iâm deaf on the right so both speakers have to sit on the left between the desks. Both desktops are 10 years old with Windows 7. Time for new laptops.
The speakers on the window ledge are now gone.
Nope.
Nope.
Hint: size matters.
⊠new iPad? (that was, btw, my first guess)
doesnât look that larger though
Hehe⊠From 11â to 12.9â.
Going iPad only. Wish me luck!
⊠without trackpad?
good luck indeed!
Apple finally got it! bought iPadâs keyboard as soon as it came out but I find myself (almost) never using it as having to move hands away from it to tap the screen is quite unpractical
Nice set up! Cool seeing all these Maggies! I used to have the âRoom Dividerâ Tympani 1-D MaggiesâŠdamn they did female vocals like no other speakers I have ever hadâŠor at least my memory tells me that.
Yes! The Maggies are wonderful with female vocals and also with acoustic music in general.
Back in the seventies I always lusted after a pair of Maggies or a pair of decent electrostatics but couldnât afford them or the hefty amplifier that would be needed to drive them. I finally achieved my goal in the early 2000s with a pair of 1.5s. My current 3.6Rs are my 3rd pair of Maggies.
I never got to hear the Tympanis - their sheer size would unfortunately have completely ruled them out for me. European houses and rooms arenât as big as their American equivalents.
That grey slab in front of the iPad is a Magic Trackpad â thatâll tie me over nicely until the Magic Keyboard arrives.
Enough with the Apple talk. The home offices are a nice twist though â keep âm coming!
