Showing (off) your Roon setup - description and photos [2021 .. 2022]

I cannot help you with this.
I use Qobuz and have no MQA streams.
Best regards, Flere

If your cables in a home audio setup - yes, even this one - are heating up, you need to get larger gauge - something’s fundamentally wrong, if that happens!

What?! Can you imagine the amperage if this is happening on any half decent hifi cables? Either you’re shorting something out or drinking the Cool Aid.

Okay!

Just started experimenting more with Tidal but still mostly using Apple Music lossless via alternate Beosound Core for multi-room direct connection to beolab 50.

Anyway thanks. I just thought I ask since you are the only other person I know with a similar Beolab 50/Nucleus setup.

for such a treasure, I would have to move to Colombia and work in the agricultural business to grow local herbs … medicinal, of course
I like your system anyway, impressive, maybe someday …

Your kettle example with a 1m long 1.5mm^2 standard cable drops about 0.27% or 614mV across it’s two conductors, dumping ~8W across it - you won’t feel it getting warm after 5 minutes.
:thermometer:
Conductors in those high-end snakes have much larger cross sections, much less power loss to dissipate due to not having to support constant full power, so you can crank it all day without being able to feel their temperature rise.
:ice_cube:
The owner should rather be concerned with voice coil wires vaporizing on going crazy with the dial on those amps - 2100W for just a fraction of a second will probably suffice…

Arcam SA20 amplifier
Arcam ST60 streamer
Focal profile 918 floorspeakers
The Rooncore is on a Synology-NAS connected with the streamer through ethernet (Review What Hifi! ST60: “the best-sounding performer available for this money” … hear hear!!)

I love the Arcam sound (among UK’s finest). The amp and streamer make a great combination with the Focal speakers (This French speaker is really topnotch). I enjoy listening to this setup every day.

Interlinks and cables: van den Hul, Audioquest and QED. Remote’s: Apple Mac’s, iPad’s, iPhones and Logitech Elite …Streaming service: Qobuz. Internet-connection: Glass fibre (rocksolid).

Roon is ofcourse “the cherry on the cake”…

Looks like a Van Der Graf generator from 6th form physics :smiling_imp:

Apparently he has the Sennheiser $50,000 Orpheus Headphones so our Sennheiser agent tells me

Mere pocket change :joy:

Very nice system and room. Is the guitar rosewood or mahogany?

I’ve never heard MBL - what do they sound like compared to other speaker designs?

Hi John, thanks for the compliment. Besides listening to good music, we appreciate a pleasant ambiance to go with it  . The guitar is mahogany.

What a nice collection of antiques.

Absorbers installed. Built a wooden cable canal for cable management, almost done with cable hiding.

ROON core ticking in the closet - for music sessions

DAC hidden behind the LG OLED 83" - when playing XBOX Series X , or wathing Netflix etc.

Spotify Connect directly to the 8C’s - for all around music in the apartment. (Beta Tester)
