Someone asked to see an image from the front. Here you go.
Are those speaker stands third party?
No, they aren’t. They are made by Devialet specifically for the Phantom I. They are called the “Tree”.
Nice setup. Do they change the sound vs the tripod like legs?
I can’t comment as I don’t own the smaller tree pods. What I can say is the trees are the perfect height for critical listening. Also because of their design there are no reflections as the base the phantom sits upon is very narrow.
Oh…I thought I saw this setup before with the other stands…some comments were joking about iRobots guards or something to that effect. I must be mistaken.
I am not coming from that point of view, and since you are condescending so will I: You have absolutely no clue.
Oh I see where you’re coming from. Yes a while back I shared a photo with the Phantom II on the Devialet Legs stands. They’ve now been replaced with the Phantom I.
I replaced the photo here as well because I noticed it didn’t show any toe-in because the photo was distorted. The above image does a bit of a better job.
I like to keep things simple, so here is what I got for musik as well as HT:
Roon Rock runs on a Nuc10i5 (that sound pretty nerdy already…try telling this to anyone outside the roon world ;o)
The Nuc is connectet via HDMI to a Marantz SR7015.
B&W 702 S2 and a pair of DB4S Subs for the front, my ~30 year old B&W Preference 6 work as Surround, HTM71 as Center.
Sound is OK, given the bad room acoustics, and the inability to treat these problems due to WAF issues ;o)
The Marantz got some horrible measurements by audio science rewiews and I thought about upgrading to a Rotel RAP 1580 MKII… mabe some day when times get a bit brighter again.
But honestly I cant complain, about the sound of the Marantz.
For maximum Soundquality (without the Sub Uumphh) I run a Focal Arche DAC via USB to the Nuc and a Focal Stellia. Lots of fun.
Eyeballs out on storks seems made for these speakers/stands
Not sure how you got condescending from that, not the intention, but whatever. You stated there was no difference between the two and I attempted to point out another viewpoint. My clue is pretty well in tact. Good luck
Roon’s convolution engine can deal with that via DSP filters (no panels, traps or egg cartons). I recommend homeaudiofidelity.com
I spy a pair of small speakers…
Devialet Phantoms.
Powerhouse Roon Ready endpoints!
Okay, the phone images were killing me. Too much wide angle distortion which wasn’t allowing you to see the toe-in of the Phantoms, which is an important part of their setup. Don’t mind the wires; I haven’t completely decided if the setup is the final. It’s close. Here’s some better photos. I got out the good camera gear and moved the coffee table out of the way. Cheers.
I did the same thing. I was using a pair for stereo before the pair of Phantom I arrived. One Reactor went to the gym. The other in a bedroom.
Jep, I got a convolution Filter running for the headphone setup. The maranz is EQed Witz the audissey App, which really helped a lot.
Also we’ve got a new couch and I stuffed every empty space inside with mineral wool (packed in non woven fabric). When I got some time, I’m going to run another REW measurement…
Till then I’m pretty happy with what I got. Much of the perceived sound quality is on the psychological side anyways…;o)

I agree with you that much of the perceived sound quality is on the psychological side.
