Hi Fiere,
Found your post via a google search. I just purchased a pair of Beolab 50’s that I am dedicating to music listening and Roon Nucleus server. The speaker won’t be connected to my B&O TV directly but hoping to make them available to the rest of my Multi room system via Beosound core, essence remotes and halo remotes, A9, Level etc. Note my Beovision is connected to Beolab 18’s and 17’s for dedicated surrounds, so these speakers won’t be used for watching movies.

Curious what’s the best way you found to connect the Beolab 50’s to Roon Nucleus in a completely wired and networked setup to get best quality from Tidal, my Beogram 4002 record deck and Beosound 9000 CD player?

Thanks in advance for indulging my question and curiosity.

The only music connection to my BL50 is from the Nucleus via a USB cable.
I cannot help with your other questions.

I was looking at adding that AT cart to my stable as it is relatively affordable.
I did go with a Shelter 201 as addition for now but still may revisit this AT cart.
Thanks for the reminder and enjoy.

Well, they’re more fun than fact! They are easy to like, but what really gets me is the bass response and effortless reproduction of a kick drum and electric bass. The midrange isn’t as lively and “free” as i’d like but they great entertainers, not losing too much inte the detail department from more contemporary speakers.

I have had them running for about a week now and the x-overs have come alive in a pleasing manner. They had been stored for many years before this and likely would benefit from a recap of the crossovers. We’ll see what happens down the path.

Flere,
Thanks for the reply. That is already very helpful. Just trying to plan my setup and make sure there is no ethernet based option for connecting the Nucleus to the Beolab 50’s directly. The Nucleus will be connected to the network via ethernet of course.

My thought was to connect nucleus via USB to 50’s and Beosound core to 50’s via ethernet for all other B&O Connected devices as it seems Beolab 50 can entertain multiple inputs at the same time. Powerlink cables daisy chained from master to slave 50’s and out to Powerlink input on Beosound Core.

I assume if not using Roon Nucleus. B&O Multiroom kicks in as usual.

Thanks again.

It’s a great cart , tracks everything, sounds great, doesn’t really do anything wrong, not the last word in detail , soundstage etc but that’s for the serious carts, other than that I’m very much enjoying this cart.

@David_Crosbie1 Love this! What stands are under the Harbeth’s?

After fiddling for quite some time with my PL EVO 300 Hybrid I decided to send it back. PL makes, imho, some of the best sounding gear. But the integrated amps have a serious design flaw when it comes to volume control and sensitivity. There is way to much gain on the pre-amp section of their integrated amps. Nowadays DAC’s commonly have Vrms over 2V and this proofs very troublesome with PL’s integrated amps. The volume pot meter rarely rotates beyond “9-o-clock” while pumping out volume levels well over 80dB on speakers with only 87dB sensitivity.

So out goes the Hybrid integrated and in come the EVO 400 power amp and AURALiC Altair G2.1 streamer/DAC/pre-amp. Really good volume control and beautiful sound, I am happy!

Love for things that glow at night!

They’re “something solid” stands. They seem to be the done thing with Harbeths. And they match my old ladderax unit too

That said, we actually moved the room around for better flow. Still lots of work to be done, we have only been in a few weeks! The Victorian press is getting re-built to house the hifi properly, and to hide the cable.

Definitely looks like a fun roon, mid-century vibes all over it.

Thats kind of our bag, and actually one of the main reasons I have Harbeths lol. It was these, big tannoys, or some jbl’s. These to me sound better than the others.

My current system is as follows.
Front end Digital: Cocktail Audio X45 Pro, Audio Analogue Maestro CD players ver-1&2,
Amp’s: AA Maestro Stereoline SE Preamp, 2 x AA Maestro Class A SE Power amps.
Luxman PD310 Vacuum disc TT, Speakers: Amphion Krypton2 & REL 6 stack S-510 subs, Amphion Argon2 Anniversary, Polk SDA-SRS, Magnepan Tympani 1D’s all on rotation occasionally. Mix of cables and power is handled by 2 of Shunyata V-Ray Hydra conditioners with 2 x 20amp dedicated supplies to the room, I am lucky to have a dedicated large room for this to be all set up in but currently no treatment.
Headphone rig: Stax SR-L700 mk2, Stax Lambda Sig Pro, Lambda SRL, SRM 007T mk2, SRM1-TI.
Much of this (and there is a lot more) I have purchased over the past number of years and I am still striving for my lifetime system when I have the means but for now it does the job nicely.

Looks like the photos didn’t happen? How do I add them?

You can either copy/paste them into the message you are creating or you can choose the image gallery button to select an image from your device.

Off the top of my head I think it accepts .jpg and .png, but others will need to verify.
