I’ve stuck with the Meridian kit because I like the way it all integrates together, just one remote for the whole system. That is apart from the iPhone for ROON!
In this system I had to have a DAC to convert the digital sources into the analogue inputs for the ‘analogue’ surround sound processor - which promptly converts it all back into digital! I started with a Meridian 203 DAC but that didn’t sounds as good as the DAC in the 506. I changed to a Flying Calf 24bit DAC which was comparable to the 506. Finally I found the Schitt Bifrost and that is significantly better, much clearer and open.

Did you change the sensitivity of the inputs? I have them on 12 dB and the phono input I have on +18dB, because from -99dB to 70dB you hear almost no sound.
Lyngdorf is great. I use it with my Spatials and it’s amazing. RoomPerfect works wonders. Software is the future, and audio is no exception.

Here’s the source of many evening’s worth of listening enjoyment. We got very lucky to end up with a view like this in our new place, and I got very lucky that my partner’s reaction when I purchased the 8c’s was to complement the looks.
Roon is running in a VM on my TrueNAS server in the basement, silently out of the way.

I recently upgraded to the Aries Cerat Helene which then I decided to add the Innuos Zen MK3. Because of the sonics, I ended up just using it as a Roon Remote. When I loaded Roon Core, I felt like it was a step down in sound quality even though I am not using Roon’s DSP or upsampling.

The new amp is being built right now. It’s an Avondale NCC300 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It’s being cased in my old Naim NAP 200 DR case and reading reviews it will be as good as a NAP 500. Can’t wait to get it home next week and hooked up!
