Showing (off) your Roon setup - description and photos [2021 .. 2022]

I haven’t listened to them without stands. But there are reports that if you have them on a board you should place them as much to the front as possible (the front half globe beyond the front edge) for full potential.

No, I currently use Genelec GLM to perform room correction in my home studio. It’s a much simpler 2.1 configuration and GLM does a great job in that environment. I think Trinnov optimization becomes much more useful and relevant in surround-sound applications with large channel counts.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I do too, since my “music room” has no built-in lighting.

it is not avout bandwith, it is about the quality on packets. Even 2Mb is plenty to stream high rez music. But if you have faulty equipment or line that gives you packet drop or jitter, even 1000Gb can give you trouble with streaming… But it should be really bad though

Oskar Heil was a visionary, far ahead of his time. The number of companies using his AMT design proves it. I had the AMT-1b’s back in the 80s and loved them. My current Goldenears speakers use the AMT tweeters. One nice thing–the new versions don’t require a weightlifter to move them around!

I have the Golden Ear Triton One.R. Not easily moved. Additionally, I would like to add a pair of REL subwoofer or the Golden Ear subwoofers.

This is my favorite chain so thought I’d share too!
A few years ago I had a rack full of separates; pre/power/phono/CD player/DAC and was looking for a streamer for Roon, when I decided to simplify things instead of adding another box and yet more cables.
Now it’s Roon core on a Mac Mini + a NAS (which I burned all my CD’s to) in another room streaming via Wifi to a Devialet 440 to Raidho X1’s via Audioquest Rocket 88.
Sounds great and cable count is down to five; power cord for each Dev, two speaker cables and a phono cable from the TT.

Closer view of cabinet holding a few hundred LP’s plus wall mounted Devialets. I had a Dev 140 and wanted to upgrade to a 220 for the better phono stage. While shopping I found a deal on a 440 that was too good to pass up and which I’m unlikely to ever outgrow.

Blast from the past! SOTA Sapphire with ET II air bearing tonearm I bought new in the late 80’s. Soundsmith MIMC Zephyr straight into the Devialet phono stage.

Killer view! Not a half bad system either

I’ll bet they are heavy! I meant the AMT tweeters of old–they must have weighed 20 lbs each!

New digital front end.
Finally decided to replace my aging Antipodes Edge Roon server/player and acquired this little stack( well horizontal stack :sunglasses:).

Antipodes S30 Roon server.
Antipodes S20 reclocker.
Antipodes S60 power supply.

USB from S30 to S20
i2s from S20 to Matrix mini ipro3.
S60 powers both units.

Very nice - are you storing files on the S30 or pulling them from network storage?

I will be fitting the 2tb ssd from the old Edge unit…sooner or later…lol.
Right now just streaming service.

It’s a job for Monday as at home.

Might try adding a share location for tonight though as have everything backed up in attached HDD upstairs.

I thought it was Roon Ready, or is it a matter of timing everything?
(Actually you answered my question in your post already :roll_eyes:}

The Matrix is and that’s how I used it with the Edge.
But as I got the reclocker it’s output needs to be i2s to get hi res so now using the Matrix as a dac only.

But I do intend to do comparison tests😉

Ok that sort of makes sense and is what I was trying to get my head around what you were using the MA for

I say nothing…

Who is this?
What have you done with Ged?

Well it’s 2 years older than my kitchen endpoint (a Bush DAC41 from 1954 with a Pi and HAT amp) so maybe!
