I once owned a JBL SVA series of speakers in stereo and also a 5 - channel setup for home theatre. I kept them for 17 years! I loved them. They were very forgiving to their source material. When I changed to more accurate speakers many of the tracks I previously enjoyed sounded like crap (a lot of classic rock which wasn’t well recorded). Your model look really nice with the wood finish. I remember taking a look at them online but never had the chance to audition in person. Cheers.
Hey!
Amazing looking at your rigs… each one is beautiful in its own right.
Here is mine:
- Lumin U2 Mini.
- Canor Audio 2.10 DAC
- Canor Audio 1.20 Amp.
- Marten Oscar Trio
- ROCK and iPad as controller
Just traded in a McIntosh MA352 + Chord Qutest, spent 3 months with it and once I auditioned this Canor Audio combo… No comparison really, I like this setup tons more.
Have a great Saturday!.

Very nice setup. Would you mind sharing the flowery picture on your monitor?
same wish i had when looking at the flower pict.
@Kopftelefon it’s called “America”, by an artist called Marc Dennis.
Okay I’m going to start up by saying, I know this is incredibly stupid.
Now that that is out of the way, I’m going to admit that one of the things I miss the most about my vintage audio gear are the VU meters. So, well I went and I bought some. This kit from Douk Audio (http://doukaudio.com) literally does absolutely nothing. All it does is taps into the audio path from my DAC and presents the volume to the left and right channels on these meters.
I’m embarrassed in polite company, but I’m happy.
Here they are in action…
VU meters are the way.
Pretty sweet!
I absolutely love it👍
I think you will find there are a lot of fans of big vu meters here.
One thing I miss from the McIntosh for sure.
Rob…I’m a total “meter guy”. But my last amp has none…how did you get that “Cool Blue” “Macintosh” colored lights? The one they show has just plain ol’ white ones?
OMG SuperTramp? I really like these guys …I’ve seen them live twice…I gotta get some Blue lit Meters!!!
Hah - Hi Larry. Fear not, there is a knob on the back that allows you to change the LED colors on the meters… only about 10-12 choices, but one is definitely blue.
you can check out the unit at doukaudio.com, the one I have is the VU22.
As to Supertramp - yep, they were awesome. This is the remastered (192kHz) version of this album. It’s my go-to test album for my digital player testing.
Part of this hobby is things that look pretty
True that.
Which one?
The Apogee System.
Time stamp please! Want instant gratification!
“Final”? Folks, we need to stop redefining the meaning of words.
