what inspired the change in speakers?
My new speakers turned up. A pair of Wharfedale Linton Heritage speakers and stands. They replace a much loved but aging pair of B&W DM602S3’s. I’m super happy with them. They sound fantastic and look great. They even came with white gloves to handle the speakers which amused me no end.
Rest of my gear hasn’t changed
(Yes Kind of Blue is deliberately posed but it was the first album I played on the new speakers)

Nice system.
Have you tried toeing-in the speakers or do they sound better straight ahead? Most, not all, sound better with some toe-in.

I own the CK-52861 Master Sound edition of the album. Up until now it has been the cd which is played first on all of my new speakers 
Imo the best album ever recorded, hands down.
Long time (2015) Roon user, first post here. Still a work in progress, but man, oh, man, what a step up. Simple, so far, and sweet.
NAD M33 out through KEF R3 Metas via ELAC Reference cables. Furman power conditioner below the NAD unit. That’s it. I’ve got my Sennheiser HD600s up here, which do pretty well through the headphone output of the M33, but my main headfi rig is in my work space downstairs -recently upgraded to Focal Utopia down there fed by Schiit Gumby and Mjolnir 2.
The room is our finished attic that my somewhat-slow-to-launch son moved out of in March. It’s ok, the pandemic really got in his way and he’s doing great. Still looking to move my vinyl and CD collection in and replace the table the M33 is on with something proper. Plans to add at least 1 sub, maybe 2, still not sure [the room is small and square (13’ by 13’)], and some acoustic treatment. Even my initial attempt at Dirac adjustments tightens and clarifies things nicely.
Such a step up from my 1989 B&O Red Line 60.2s (that still sound pretty good in our living room! and Yamaha integrated (replace with a NAD C338 that does Roon via Chromecast). Wonderful to be in a situation where I can make the upgrade. It’s got me looking for excuses to sit in my chair and listen. Good thing, plenty of work that I can do in front of the KEFs this week!

Do you have the Dirac full version yet? If not when you get your subwoofer in place you will probably want to upgrade to full version. It’s quite an amazing upgrade imo.
Yep, seemed like a no brainer in the grand scheme of my budget. Though for $5000 USD, you’d think they could include the whole thing!

I hear you on that, it’s always more huh? We’re in deep enough that 99.00 is just the cherry on top. I’ve ran mine with LS50 and B&W 805D plus my B&W 610 sub really nice to use the crossover at 60 or 80hz and give the subwoofer the rest of the work. That’s where it really shines in my experience. Have fun with your new setup

Before you spend a fortune upgrading Dirac try $10 on Housecurve it is simple to use and the results are very impressive.

I have them very slightly toed in - it’s hard to see in that picture. I haven’t had a chance to really experiment with positioning yet, but I do plan to. I’m pretty happy with how they sound with that slight toe in but my experience is the same as yours - that a bit more toe in is better

It is definitely one of my favorites too,
This is the latest version of my set. It may not be the most exciting, but it’s fine for me.
It consists of:
- Aliante moda 1000 loudspeakers in collaboration with Quad
- Audio Analogue Puccini SE amplifier
- Raspberry Pi 3b with Allo Digione streamer
- ifi micro idsd black label dac
- all cables are Nordost Blue Heaven
The sound quality is both quite reasonable wide, high a deep.
In addition, there are nice tight lows and a no sharp highs
Since the speaker was bought second-hand and the amplifier and cables are now about 15 years old -the prices were still acceptable back then-, the sound quality for the price is very good!
And now just have time to listen

My space (recent post, bare floor) is too lively, yes. Working on that. There is a rug on the floor just in front of the lower border of the image frame. Though, as I understand it, rugs aren’t doing much as an acoustic treatment. Walls are still mostly bare or have my son’s stuff on them (e.g., mounted fish). Presented as a work in progress…

HAF will give much better results with custom convolutions you add into Roon. The results are amazing as they are made from your recording your own system and then Thierry creates the convolutions. He is always trying to improve the results that HAF can provide… https://www.homeaudiofidelity.com

JVC subwoofer
I’ve connected the CXNv2 through its coax digital output to the Loxjie DAC. The Loxjie has a MQA decoder onboard so I can now have both MQA and up to 24/192 FLAC playing from Qobuz and Tidal. The Loxjie has its own display where it shows what is playing and with which bitrate.

Nice, and similar to mine. I have the same CA streamer and Sony universal disc player. I run a digital coax from the Sony to the streamer and use the Sony as a disc transport. Incidentally, it is possible to send a digital signal from the Sony to the streamer for single-layer SACDs as well many other disc types, albeit as PCM.
