SINCE ROON UPDATE 2.56 problems with remote when clicking on album playing link
When I click on the album link Roon stops working completely on my Windows 11 pc’s (I tried this on three different PC’s). Before the update this function worked perfect for as long as I can remember.
Roon remote stops working completely and disappears. After restarting the app and playing the album again clicking the link makes the problem happening again…

I am using Roon remote on a Windows 11 pc (as I always do). It seems to happen when I use my PC as an endpoint to my DAC via the USB connection.
Right now I am listening using a Roon ready bridge (Fiio SR11) also connected to the same DAC, this time using a (good) digital spdif coaxial cable. I was succesful in using the link this time without the crash of remote happening.
I will try the USB connection again now.
Switched back, and now the crash does not happen…beats me what was happening.
Before after clicking the album link Roon remote immediately disappeared and stopped.
When I open Roon remote on another PC (on the network but not connected to the DAC directly with USB) I can see the album playing on the PC with USB connection. But when I click the link on that “secondary pc” the crash immediately happens. Roon remote stops/disappears in a split second.
Switched back to the Roon ready coax/spdif connection. This seems to function ok.second(ary)
Please contnue the investigation. This is all a bit dodgy to me. But, all seems related to USB connected endpoints and how they behave on a “Roon” network.
The crash of Roon remote just happened again around 21:35 minus/plus a bit (GMT+1 Amsterdam timezone). No USB-pc involved now.
Roon remote playing through my Roon ready device active on the network. I switched Roon remote on on a second pc. Tried to click on the “album playing” link (SomaFM: Mission control playing). Roon remote crashed again on this second pc. Roon stopped playing and disappeared immediately. After restarting Roon remote I get an error message (center screen) saying “Error loading saved page”.
I can see Roon playing this station in the bottom bar of the page. On my first pc Soma FM: Mission control kept/keeps playing full screen. (also via the Roon Ready device on the network).
I just installed 2.56 (Build 1582) on Mac OS 26.0.1. Unbelievable… not only did it NOT fix the audio initialization problem when changing to a track with a different sample rate, it introduced this new problem reported here.
If I have a track playing and click an upcoming album icon in the Queue to inspect it, it crashes the Roon App (though the music continues to play). I did notice that this only happens on the same Mac that’s also running the Roon Server. The Roon app crashes, but the Server continues playing the track. Other Roon Remote apps running on other Macs on the network do not experience the crash.
Oh also, it still hasn’t fixed the nagging problem of finding other Roon-ready devices on the network after a reboot, without needing to go into Mac OS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → and toggling Roon and Roon Server Off & On.
I will be courteous – but this is getting ridiculous!!
We’re having a tough time enabling diagnostics for your Roon remotes, could you please share a set of Roon (not Roon Server) logs from the affecfed machine - use the directions found here and send over a set of Roon logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!

New day here. Just submitted the Logs-folder of one of my PC’s (the Roon remote crash happened on three different Windows PC’s, all running the completely updated W11 25H2 (including the 29 Oktober updates).

I think I run into the same (similar?) issue on my Roon Remote running on MacOS. Clicking the link outlined in red below crashes Roon Remote every time. It is fully replicable.

The problem still persists. I have reactivated a pc (was waiting for new memory sims) which still has Remote 2.55 and no problems there.

On last build Roon remotes on Mac OS and IOS crashes when I try to open a playing album. This is what I try: I click on small cover art in left corner and it shows full screen. When I then try to click on the full screen album cover for additional information the app crashes and I have to reopen it. FYI.
