Slow searches have returned :(

Search slowness, it is same here in Finland. Very slow after latest updates.

(maybe in future there will be setting to remove popular tracks and recommended albums from artist page, that would make it good again.)

Over the weekend there was some server-side slowness that we’ve resolved and things should be much quicker now. Thanks for your patience as we’ve worked to get this resolved, everyone!

Would be highly useful if Roon could ping such problems / status updates on the forum. So people know about and don’t waste a number of hours in restarting, reinstalling, re-indexing or trying further investigations to solve this.

It’s still slower overall for mez compared to what it was. But it’s significantly better than it has been over this weekend. So a move in the right direction. Hope it sticks.

I have to say have not noticed a real difference as it is still taking on some occasions 20 - 30 seconds to add an album from Qobuz and around 15 - 20 seconds to load artists sometimes as well again this is in Qobuz. I have never had these issues until the last update and now is happening the vast majority of the time.

Searches are definitely slower with the latest build, but its not problematic. Its still faster than it was on 1.7.

23 seconds here in Canada this morning

Unfortunately still not fixed. Taking seconds to get a search results for songs (library/Tidal)

Slow here too … and I hear my NUC running very loudly for some strange reason (wasn’t the case just few days ago)

I think I am going to listen to Vinyl this weekend. No drama.

I have the issue here, too. Running Roon ROCK on a NUC7i7BNH and searching has been incredibly slow last week. Just searching for ‘Queen’ took 40 seconds yesterday evening. However, in the morning it is fast as it should. It is now 9:57am here, and searching ‘Queen’ now takes one second. I guess it has to do when the users in the US wake up and start listening?

Minimum 15 seconds for me when searching for an artist…

Yes, for me too.

same here very slow when searching and adding artist.

Took about 6 secs to search for Queen here at 11:00

04/11 11:02:54 Debug: [easyhttp] [80] GET to https://internetradio.roonlabs.net/2/api/stations/search?query=queen&count=50&format=msgpack returned after 548 ms, status code: 200
04/11 11:02:59 Debug: [easyhttp] [79] GET to https://search.roonlabs.net/1/search?q=queen&count=50&c=tidal-ar,qobuz-gb returned after 4935 ms, status code: 200
04/11 11:03:00 Trace: [music/search] computing search results
04/11 11:03:00 Trace: [music/search] [performance] ComputeTopResult took 265ms
04/11 11:03:00 Trace: [music/search] [performance] end-to-end search took 6125ms

Most everything moves at glacier-like speed here in Belgium.

Clicking on artist name from album view takes 20-30 seconds to load artist page. So, situation normal, unfortunately.

Slowly but surely tiring of the whole Roon experience.

As a counterpoint (I am in the Netherlands): I have a local library of 27000 albums (almost 500,000 tracks) plus a Qobuz account. I just did a handful of searches and artist page visit / discography loads. Nothing takes more than 3-5 seconds. I am always quick to raise issues when I encounter them (a 500 euro piece of software should work properly or be fixed quickly when it doens’t). In this case, I don’t experience the issue mentioned here and based on my setup, I should experience it, if it was Roon-related.
Could it be the cause lies elsewhere? Have you all rebooted your Core etc. recently? How are you connected to your library (my Roon is on a core i7 NUC with nothing else and connected to a NAS via ethernet through a GB switch)?

That’s frustratingly slow IMO…

Whilst not as slow as when I opened this thread last week, the tweaks that support mentioned don’t seemed to have cured it. I had several occasions yesterday where it was stuck for over 30secs loading an album or artist that I had only loaded previously a few minutes before. This morning not bad at an average of 7 secs but not what I would call optimum.

@support can we get an update if this is server side again please. It does seem this seems to occur more frequently over the weekends and gets worse over the course of the day.

For those users that don’t believe it’s a Roon thing. Here a couple of videos showing Roon compared to Tidal on same remote and network searching for a popular beat combo called The Rolling Stones.

Roon core recently restarted.
