There are no changes between 9.4 and the last version of 9.3 you tried so no point in running it on anything. SongKong 9.4 Raise is just the official release of the beta version we have been working on, now available for all platforms.
Just going off of my own experience restoring a database from backup seems to force Roon to rescan all files sort of like itās never seen them before. Thatās my own observation and Iām not a Roon developer so I could be mislead or misinformed. Iām glad the suggestion may have had an effect. I had a similar issue when I ran SongKong and reorganized all of my folders with Roon running at the time. I started having random issues with music failing to play and just all sorts of weirdness. Restoring a backup and rescanning fixed that issue for me.
Rescan yes but not reanalyse if it has analysed them previously. It is the reanalysis that takes time, if it is needed. Rescanning is relatively quick (about 2 mins for me with 150k tracks, USB storage). There is a rescan every time Roon server is restarted after a Roon update.
Ron, how are you doing, can we get an update?
Made it through _S, but am now away from home until late on August 25. I opened up everything, and the Roon server is running. I hope everything will have been added and identified by the time I get home. I certainly will let everyone know
Iām back - and allās well! The entire collection has now been identified and added, and the speed has returned to acceptable. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this.
