Saw him at Toronto Pop in the Varsity Stadium in '69. I was 16 and blown away when he hit the stage. I can still hear his opening riff and Oh Yeah!

I love jazz and I love Johnny Winter. Having said that though, there are many other jazz lovers that aren’t into the type of music that Johnny Winter plays, or played.

I’ve always been a fan of Johnny Winter’s music, but I don’t think it belongs at a jazz festival. :man_shrugging:

You need to read some of the very interesting history of the Newport festivals, both Jazz and Folk, in the late 60’s. There was a real struggle between purists and expansionists. Dylan went electric at the Newport Folk Festival, for example.

The same evening, on the same stage I describe BB and Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin followed Max Roach. That’s as unlikely a pairing as you’d ever find.

Do I get a birthday present? Hehe. @jamie I’m assuming no further updates will come until the new year, but it would great if the announcement combines Roon ARC into Roon desktop software for full consolidation into just 1 application. I’m sure that would make many users happy. :slight_smile:

In the company I worked for we had an absolute change freeze at our “peak” 1 Dec (and Easter) , but we were a beer company in midsummer and Xmas combined

I worked in healthcare IT - we supported 226 hospitals - anyone making non emergency changes in our no fly periods would probably need to make use of those hospitals pretty quick.
