· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
installed an SSD, was not visible as internal storage. subsequently removed the drive, formatted as Fat32 - then reinstalled the drive. Sata Cable is connected securely - and have restarted the roon server, but cannot see any internal storage from the Web UI. The drive is working when removed and connected to my MAC
spot on - and thanks both. ive tried gently making sure contact is in place at both ends of the SATA cable, but no joy. i noticed that the cable seems to be origami-style bent over in a right angle to meet the need for the hard drive position, but assuming that by design

Both the Nucleus and ROCK can be fussy on recognizing drives occasionally.
Can you run a drive error check on it while connected to the Mac?
It likely will show no error but could reset some things that Linux needs to see.
I had exactly the same a couple weeks back with my ROCK.
Although it was my fault entirely, running drive check in Windows then allowed the ROCK to see the drive again.
Welcome to the forum! IS this a new SSD or was there previously an operating system installed on it? If there was an operating system on it, it is possible that the drive has multiple partitions, have you ensured that all the previous partitions have been wiped out/removed?
If the drive is recognized successfully when connected via USB, that will help us narrow things down — it would suggest either a faulty SATA cable or a motherboard-side issue with the internal SATA connection.
Please let us know the results after you test the drive over USB.
The Nucleus isn’t currently visible to our diagnostic servers, so we’re not in a position to verify whether the Nucleus has successfully mounted this drive.
Are you relying on a VPN for regular use with Roon?
Do you require further assistance at this point? Please let us know if this SSD was visible via USB, and we’ll proceed from there.
