@xxx yes LUCAS the Prince of Darkness made the electrical systems for British Leyland and especially Jaguars and MG’s(I had an MG-C with Borg Warner automatic transmission& the last year of Jaguar xj 12s) Lucas also made all the FRIGes in Britain hence warm beer

In the day, when Triumph, MG and others became popular in Amerika, LUCAS was a running joke for a certain crowd.
At the time, the only thing more unreliable was Harley-Davidson.
I remember my 1971 Austin American, 1969 MGB, and 1973 MG Midget fondly. I wanted to love them, but mechanically they were a mess. At least they were better than my buddy’s Fiat Spyder. My 1995 Mazda Miata on the other hand…fun to drive and zero issues.
I had a ‘59 Sprite. What a blast to drive.
Motor blew up outside of Flagstaff and I just left it by the side of the road.
So easy then.
Yeh FIAT fix it again Tony
I stand corrected , I used to visit the brewery regularly , a long time ago , memory fades …!!
There was a Guinness bottling plant too as I recall
It was a very big brewery in its time , a sign of the effect of the Beer Orders that prevented big groups being retailers
There used to be a real pub opposite as I recall ?
There’s a hotel thing, the Cooper’s… something
But it wasn’t my area, when I was there late teens we generally went into town; Yate’s and onward…
I go back from time to time to see a couple of mates (also HiFi fans) but that’s the only draw - it’s a bit grim
So I up gave up drinking (again). But I really like the taste of beer and drink craft near beers (lots of them now especially Athletic Brewing). Do I qualify for this thread?
Gave up?
Ten characters
Crap, yeah. Gave up!
Amazing coincidence, i gave up drinking about a minute ago
Yeah I didn’t drink for 15 years, then started working at this company a few years ago with a bunch of craft beer heads. So started going to different breweries on Friday evenings. Then with Covid it became every evening (at home)…
I realized that either I exercise or stop drinking beer. Exercise is too much work…,
…fair point, I’ve been doing the exercise longer than i’ve been drinking…I will reform
Its barley water! The healthiest, most natural refreshment drink there is. If you want to lose weight, stop eating junk food, but don’t stop drinking barley water Oh, and the alcohol is an added bonus
Did you know they make an NA version of that?!
That’s akin to decafe coffee…low carb beer is almost as bad…I think I would rather skip a meal
Just drink Guinness-eatings cheating.
