tbh I did not expect too much, but just wanted to be sure.
At least it’s not in the firmware (that latest one was part of the update).
Let’s ee if they can come up with a fix in the coming days. I’ll monitor the forums.
Thanks again for testing!

You’re welcome!
…crossing fingers…
With the latest update your issue should be resolved…

We’re almost there. 5.4 runs very smoothly. I want to finish up my rewrite of the WiFi configuration and then probably release.
Hi Harry,
probably starting to get on your nerves, but as you mentioned DSD, I realised, that I hadn’t tested that yet.
Contrary to Roon setup and DAC capabilities, the signal path now shows DSD to PCM conversion when playing DSD content.
Anything I can do from my side?
What DAC do you have?
SMSL M300MKII
Thanks for checking!
EDIT:
@spockfish
Just found out, that when grouping it with the second RPi, running a HiFiBerry DAC HAT, DSD to PCM conversion is applied to both endpoints.
Ungrouping them gets me DSD on the SMSL.
I guess, that’s not an error, but had thought, that their signal paths get handled separately.
Thanks again for your efforts!

This lands the refactored WiFi setup.
Previously the WiFi setup tried to be intelligent in selecting the right interface: by default the on-board one, except when you plugged in an USB adapter it used that one. Although it works it is all rather ‘shaky’. And when you have a device like a Pro-Ject streamer or Stack Audio Link it won’t even work as these devices don’t have the default broadcom chip on-board anyhow.
So, here it is. In the new setup you can select the proper interface and scan manually. I’ve tried to achieve the best of both worlds: if you’re not into USB dongles the wifi setup is as easy as it was before, but now there’s just a little bit more control for those that are playing around with USB dongles.
With this last functional drop we’re heading towards a release, so please test.
Thanks
Newish user here, and I stick with the stable release, so not demoing the beta… (I don’t think there’s been a release since I started using RoPieee, anyway.)
So, if i have “update schedule” set to “Manually” (instead of “on boot”)… how do I update?
Is it once a new Stable version is released, it will show up in the web-management interface as a link? Or do I switch to “on boot” when I’m ready to update?
Just so!
…filling for 10 chars…
thank you!

I said we were there, but I’ve still being tuning the kernel for low-latency stuff.
But … we’re nearly there
Enjoy the weekend!
Just upgraded to 20201101-1 and the browser reported “internal server error”. DLNA/Upnp still working as intended, only the web server seems to be down. Is there other ways to extract meaningful log for further debugging?
Thanks for reporting this!
There was a faulty release. This has been fixed now.
Your unit should resolve this automatically when rebooting it.
Did a manual update and confirm fixed in 2.626, thank you @spockfish
I’m sure I’m missing it, but where should I be seeing that an update is available?
(I have it set to update to new version on reboot.)
You’re on stable. (look at the version on the bottom line).
This is about the beta channel.
oh, duh.
Thanks.
I’ve been using the beta version of RoPieeeXL for about a week and it seems to be working well.
What I can’t get to work is an external wifi dongle from TP-Link… I have the T4U and the T2U and none wants to work. RopieeeXL recognizes it once I plug it in after a boot, but if I select, set and reboot, the Pi will not come back online. I was hopping to achieve a more stable link to avoid pauses or skips when playing through Roon.
I have one Pi3B+ connected to a Topping D90 MQA DAC via USB and a Pi 4B built in my Okto Research Dac8 Stereo but connected through an external USB “jumper”.
The Dac8 Stereo Pi 4B came with a dongle that worked right out of the box, but it is not dual band…
Any advice/instructions on how to set up the TP-Link dongles in RopieeeXL? Is Ropieee working better, should I switch to the non XL version? Or should I look a t different dangles instead?
Thanks!
