You will have to remind me closer to the time when I will be ready to do this
They seem very reasonable prices though thanks

Hope I’m still alive to witness this miracle.

I think record #2 is even nicer splatter though and the white insert helps it.

Just finished renovating my Technics SL7.
Cleaned and lubed all mechanical parts, changed belts and set up the vta which is pretty finicky on this and not even an option on lesser models.
Found a Holy Grail ep202 cartridge cw boron cantilever stylus. Don’t ask the cost of that…lol.

Very pleased with the results, even Mrs.Hammer can operate it!
That’s why we have Rod Stewart on right now :innocent:

I’d like to do something similar for my sl-7. Could you point me at resources to help?
I’ve just bought a less ambitious cartridge

Hey Ged.
I wish I could but it was all diy.
I just started taking it to pieces screw by screw and hoped I could put it all back together again…in the right order.
Numerous photos helped there.
It’s really not too bad as once you take the top cover off you have access to a lot of parts and that’s just seven screws on the inside of the lid/cover.

I’m also partial to Adzen carts for these but again all are going to be old and used and quite likely abused.

Belts I sourced off ebay, there’s a few listed, or there was when i bought mine

Well its my next free weekend project :flushed:

Its really not that bad, its very well built. Just dont try and over tighten anything when you put it back together.
The plastic gets a little fragile with age.
Dont ask me how I know.
