Tidal and Qobuz versions mixed up

Since the addition of Qobuz, I am adding the higher resolution FLAC versions of albums I have already as Tidal MQA in the library. After I add the Qobuz version to the library I try to play it which results in a mix-up of the two album versions:

If this example is on the 2L label, they are MQA on both platforms.

See this reply from a 2L engineer:

Thank you for the clarification. I did not expect to see any MQA to show up in Qobuz (and I am not sure if that is a good thing).

Nonetheless, I find the indication of “Qobuz FLAC 192kHz 24bit 2ch” below the cover and “Qobuz FLAC 44.1kHz 16bit 2ch, MQA 352.8kHz” in the Signal Path still quite confusing.

I agree it’s confusing - I think Qobuz has also found it confusing, and only just realised what 2L is doing… Presumably they will fix it at some point in the future.

This might throw up an interesting conundrum for some where labels may decide that is where they want to go, compelling streamers of FLAC files to stream MQA for their titles.
