Describe the issue

Tidal playlist not displaying properly in Roon

Describe your network setup

Using Intel NUC as the core running on Rock. Wired directly to router. Using Roon remote on M2 Pro Mac mini on the same network as the core.

does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey @Daz_Davies,

Thanks for taking the time to write in and share your report!

As an initial next step, could you first please stop Roon Sever from running on the Mac, and power down down both your server machine as well as your router, and see if the same issue occurs after bringing them back online?

Let me know how things feel after the above. If you’re still having issues, could you review your DNS settings on the Mac? We have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS.

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

Hi @Benjamin The server (core) is on an Intel NUC running Rock. I’m just using the Mac with the remote app. I already have my DNS settings on the Mac set to use the Google DNS servers.

Hi @Daz_Davies ,

For the DNS change to help your ROCK, you would need to set it at a router-level, not just on the Mac, since all the data is feeding through the ROCK. I would also suggest trying an image cache clear (Roon Settings → Setup) and to disable/reenable TIDAL (Roon Settings → Services). Let us know if this helps!

Hi @noris The DNS setting are at router level. I’ve also tried what you suggested re image cache clear and disabling and re-enabling Tidal but none of this has fixed the issue.

@Daz_Davies Try making sure that all endpoints are offline and then log out of Tidal. Shutdown the server and reboot.

Thanks @Singleton Tried that but it’s made no difference. This is still what displays when I look at the Tidal Playlists tab in the Roon desktop app.

@Daz_Davies ,

Let’s give this a try on your Macbook…

Step 1. Perform a backup and shutdown all endpoints and your server.

Step 2. Delete Roon

Step 3. Reboot

Step 4. Open the “Go menu” located in your Apple menu (Finder) select the drop-down “Go to folder” and then enter each line below in turn in the field to reach a given directory. Once there delete each parent directory that references the name “Roon”.

Example: When performing this action on my Macbook using “~/Library/Saved Application State” it reveals the hidden directory “com.roon.Roon.savedState”. In my example, you would select this directory for deletion.

~/Library/Application Support
~/Library/Saved Application State
/Library/Caches
~/Library/Caches

Step 5. Reinstall Roon

  • When reinstalling you should see a prompt requesting that you Allow “Roon” to find devices on local networks.

Step 6. Power on your server and endpoints. Reinstall your backup.

Hoping for the best
