Unable to Connect to New Roon Server on Cirrus7 (ref#3UGIAB)

Roon Server is deleted, but:

do I have to shut-off the new server?

This message relates to the Windows Roon server, which is still running according to the message. You need to shut down the server first. Again, I believe this may be done from the task bar.

How did you delete the server?

If you uninstall Roon on the Windows PC, which is the correct way to remove it, you may then install Roon Bridge to use the PC as a remote audio device.

but Roon Bridge isn´t working?! can´t open the app

There is nothing to “open” with Roon Bridge, it is just the audio endpoint logic of Roon. If you open a Roon Remote on another device, your PC running Roon Bridge should show there in Settings Audio.

There is no Roon Bridge app that’s visible because it runs in the background as a service. When using Remote, the PC will be shown as an audio device(s).

I’m not in the support, but I can think, what’s going wrong.
Switching from one server to another is described in the knowledge database from Roon.

  • At first both versions must be the same
  • Before starting on the the new system Roon, copy your music files to it.
  • Before making a backup from your old server, disable all music directories (in the Roon settings) → this is important!
  • Copy the backup to your new Roon server, start the Roon service and then install the backup.
  • After that you can link your music directory in Roon and after a short time (you’ve not a large library) the import should be finished.

The library in question is quite the opposite though, with around 1’600’000 tracks.

Where do you see it? I’ve read only about 50 GB (mine is about 20 TB and a server switch tooks only a short time)…

what you have seen is the backup, the library is larger

The OP is spreading bits and pieces of information over various threads for quite some time now. So people interested in the discussion are best served to
delve through the posting history of the OP.

sorry about my bad english, but what do you recommend I do

You best keep the discussion in one thread and refrain from constantly creating new ones, so people willing to help don’t have to read through a dozen or so threads or giving bad advice because they know only part of the story. That is my recommendation for you.

Ok, so stop helping…

THX, i´ll try to. :grimacing:

I’m sorry to keep bothering you with my problem, but it’s not solved yet. How can I use my NUC backup on the ROCK?

Where is the NUC backup stored, and was this created using Roon Remote?

If it is a proper backup created by Roon, you need to restore it by clicking on the Restore from backup link instead of logging in to the new server.

Once selected, you can browse to the backup which may be on your NAS or a USB drive.

There are guides in the help center, but I’m unable to seek them out for you just now.

the NUC backup is stored on an USB-stick, created with the NUC, while it was running as server.
after restoring this backup (50GB) on the new ROCK (linux-based!) I can´t connect to the new ROCK as shown on the pictures.

If you open a web browser, and enter either http://rock, http://rock.local, or, for example, http://192.168.0.123, does the web interface load?

If it does, please share a screenshot.

On the Roon Remote screen, logout of Roon. Then click on the new server, and you’ll see this screen.

Click on Restore a Backup.

found the app

but can´t restore my backup this way:

had to take this way:

my USB-stick is not shown atm

Can you go to Settings → General, and then press Logout?

Once you’ve logged out, try connecting again. You should then see the login window I posted earlier. Next, click on Restore a backup.
