Describe the issue

On the web login screen, I get an error "The was an error logging in: InvalidRecaptcha" on the Brave browser.
On Chrome, I get "invalid callback".

Describe your network setup

Synology NAS 923+, Roon is installed as a package in a container manager. Worked fine last Monday. (3 days ago) I used to play with a Roon desktop app, then with my mobile phone to stream to my stereo system, never been asked a login. Now suddenly the login process can't be completed.

· Roon Core Hardware: Apple Mac Server (2012) running Linux.

Roon Core Deployment: Running via Docker (using steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver image). Currently configured with --net=host and --dns=8.8.8.8 to ensure a direct connection and bypass any local DNS routing issues.

Storage: External SSD mounted at /mnt/SSD_EXTERNO.

Local Network: Subnet 192.168.4.x (Core IP is 192.168.4.195).

DNS / Ad-Blocking: AdGuard Home running in a separate Docker container on the same host (However, Roon is currently bypassing this using Google's 8.8.8.8 DNS).

VPN / Mesh Network: Tailscale is installed and active on the host machine.

Roon Remotes: Mac M1 (macOS) and iPhone (iOS), both connected to the same local Wi-Fi.

So I got the new Roon updates email including for ARC which got me excited, so I updated ARC on iOS and trying to sign-in but keep getting an error logging in: InvalidCallback. I did restart my iOS device and getting the same error. I’m assuming I have to yet again delete the ARC app on iOS, lose all my downloads (again), and re-install ARC to get back to a functioning state. I’m sorry, but this app is just so frustrating to use - going back yet again to Plexamp, Amperfy and Narjo for my mobile/Carplay needs.

Having exactly same issue on Mac mini running latest

Same issue - thanks for reporting this!

Same issue…. tried multiple machines, browsers and reboots… same… I can log in directly… just not through the app

Same problem here

Exactly as I did. I’m able to log in direct to roon.app website in browser, but no way to log to my Roon Core from app, no matter if on Windows laptop, Grimm MU2 or Gustard S26. :frowning:

Roon login error “InvalidCallback” after Core migration (Mac + Android affected)

Body

Hello Roon Support,

I am unable to log into Roon due to an authentication issue.

Environment
Core device: Apple Silicon Mac (MacBook Air)
OS: macOS 26.3.1 (25D2128)
Previous Core device: Intel NUC (crashed and no longer boots)
Remote devices: Android smartphone + Mac Roon Remote
Network: Home Wi-Fi (also tested mobile network on Android)
Problem description

When attempting to sign in to Roon, the browser authentication process fails.

Login to Roon account website (account.roon.app) works normally
Authentication in browser proceeds, but fails at callback stage
Error shown: “InvalidCallback”
Message also appears: “Do not sign into Roon unless you downloaded it from Roon”
After authentication, Roon cannot connect to Core
Steps already taken
Reinstalled Roon and RoonServer (clean install)
Removed all Roon-related folders in Library
Cleared cache and application support data
Reset LaunchServices database
Disabled VPN / iCloud Private Relay / ad blockers
Changed DNS (Google / Cloudflare)
Tested on both Mac and Android devices
Tested on Wi-Fi and mobile network
Verified Roon account login works in browser
Confirmed new Core setup attempt also fails
Important observation
Old Core (Intel NUC) is no longer functional due to crash
Both Mac and Android devices fail at Core connection stage
Authentication always fails at callback step (InvalidCallback)
Request

Please check if there is a corrupted or stale Core registration associated with my account and reset/clear any existing Core associations if necessary.

Best regards,

Hi Roon Support,

I’m unable to log in to the Roon client. The login process keeps looping
after I successfully sign in on the Roon account website.

My Roon account itself works normally on the website, but the Roon
client cannot complete the login/setup process.

Environment:

  • OS: Windows
  • Roon client: latest version downloaded and reinstalled
  • Test setup: using “This PC” as a new Roon Core / Roon Server
  • Browser tested: Chrome and Edge
  • Network tested: with and without Clash/VPN/proxy
  • Account type: Lifetime

Browser DevTools shows the following error during the Roon client login
flow:

POST https://account.roon.app/api/login/setup-token
Status: 400 Bad Request
Response:
{“status”:“InvalidCallback”}

Payload includes:
cb: null
state: null

Because cb and state are null, it looks like the login callback
information is not being passed correctly from the Roon client login
flow to the account service.

I have already tried:

  • Reinstalling the latest Roon client
  • Using this Windows PC as a fresh/new Roon Core
  • Clearing browser cache and site data
  • Testing both Chrome and Edge
  • Allowing third-party sign-in / FedCM settings
  • Testing with VPN/proxy disabled
  • Retrying the login flow from the Roon client

The issue still happens every time. Another user in Hong Kong is seeing
the same login loop issue as well.

Could you please check whether there is an issue with the Roon account
login callback service or advise how to fix this?

Thanks.

Describe the issue

The issue started when I tried to install and sign in to RoonArc on my Apple 15 Pro running IOS 26.4.2. Every time i signed in I cycled back to the sign in page and received an "Error Logging In: InvalidCallback" notice. I re-started my Roon Rock server which is on a separate Intel Nuc computer but this didn't help. Now when I tried to simply run Roon on my Iphone I was similarly locked out of singing in, and then I tried running Roon on my Windows computer which is my main method for running Roon in my living room and I am also locked out there. Everything was fine yesterday, what is going on ??

Describe your network setup

Verizon Fios, Router is model # G3100, no extenders or switches. Roon Rock running on an intel NUC directly connected via ethernet to the router, iphone and windows Roon devices connected via wirless to Router.

I’ve got the same problem with Roon Nucleus. I have been unable to log into ARC on my iOS 26.4.2 since the update. I tried deleting ARC and reinstalling but get the same log in problem. Tried deleting roon app today and get the same problem and error message stating “There was an error logging in: InvalidCallback” Also tried rebooting nucleus but this hasn’t helped.

Same here - Roon Arc message on iphone 13 when logging into the app ‘There was an error logging in: InvalidCallback’

Describe the issue

After I enter my password on the website I get either an InvalidCallback error, or sometimes InvalidRecapthca error, but I am never able to authenticate my account in the Roon Mac OS app. Logging in to my account from a web browser is no problem. I have followed all the recommended steps: clear cache, disable blockers etc. Verified no VPN running. rebooted, tried different browsers, reinstalled Roon, etc. Still can't get past problem. I am on Mac OS 26.4.1, default browser is Safari but same problem happens in Chrome.

Describe your network setup
