I paid $500 for a lifetime subscription to ROON. Now, it won’t even start up, and, there is no support available.

Not sure what you mean by “no support available”?
Roon support model is exactly the same as it ever has been, via this forum.
Maybe a little more information as to your problem would help others to assist you.
And please keep to just the single thread for your support issue, opening multiple threads will not help, rather it will dilute the responses
So many open questions. Normally a lifetime subscription is just a change to your account on the license server, it doesn’t change the software at all.
Did you reinstall Roon or did you get a software update?
Are there any error messages?
Did you reboot the computer or try any other things?
No error messages. I’ve tried rebooting a few times. No recent updates. Was working fine a few days ago.
I get the typical start up screen, but, it never opens
@kyle_millsap, can you confirm you have Roon Server running on your Windows computer? RoonServer.exe is the engine behind Roon, but Roon.exe is now only the graphical front-end. Roon Server needs to run in the background on the server computer for any Roon Remote to connect to it.
If Roon Server is running, can you confirm that you have Windows Firewall exceptions for roon.exe, raatserver.exe, and roonappliance.exe?
Roon 1.1 has been obsolete for 8 years. Your current Roon database is not usable with Roon 2.0. You’ll need to stay where you are or maybe just start over. That’s what I would do. If it was me, I would delete Roon and start with a fresh install by downloading from Roon Labs website.
On the other hand, you could try doing a Roon update and see what happens. Probably nothing to lose. Go to Roon - Settings - About and update there.
I’ve been using ROON daily for the since I installed it. Interesting that it never updated. Never had any issues though.
Sorry to ask a dumb question, but, is there any special instruction for deleting and re installing?
But @kyle_millsap is running Roon on Windows, so the version number should be shown in Windows Settings > Apps. Scroll down to Roon, click it, and some number a.b.c.d should appear, if I recall correctly
