Describe the issue

I am installing new Nucleus One to replace the ROCK NUC that I used before. I need to unauthorize the ROCK but can't. I have transferred the internal storage SSD with all music on it to the new Nucleus One. I have the Nucleus One connected and powered on; I have the Roon app running on and it sees the Nucleus One. I am asked to connect to it but I need to unauthorised the ROCK first. This doesn't work.

Hi @Willem_Keller,

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome! We’ll be glad to help get your Nucleus One up and running.

Before we proceed, could you please clarify one detail:
Are you restoring a Roon backup onto the new Nucleus One, or are you setting it up as a new Core from scratch?

Also, since you mentioned that you still have access to your old ROCK setup — are you able to temporarily power it on?
If yes, please try the following on the ROCK Core:

  1. Open Roon → Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Under Core, select Sign Out
This should free the authorization so the Nucleus One can take over.

Hi @Willem_Keller,

Diagnostics indicate that a Nucleus One is hosting an active RoonServer associated with your account.

Are we correct that you’ve now been able to migrate your database onto the new machine? Here’s an additional article outlining the migration process in case it’s helpful:

We’re happy to assist further if you’re stuck.

Thanks!

We’re going to proceed with closing this thread under the assumption the issue is resolved.

If you encounter any other issues with Roon or ARC moving forward, please submit an additional tech support request and we’ll investigate promptly.

Thank you!
