Staff Note
Earlier today we released Roon build 1167 and discovered an issue which prevented Roon from starting for some users. We have just released build 1169 which corrects this problem.
If you have already updated to 1167 and Roon is not starting properly, please follow the instructions listed below in the following Knowledge Base article to manually resolve the issue. You may then update to build 1169 at your convenience.
If you have any issues with the manual fix, please let us know. Apologies for …

At this point service terminates, and restarts, with a new log file created… over and over again…
yeah i tried restarting roon os as well and roon software just says not started. I tried rebooting roonos and no change
I can’t ssh into roonos to pull logs
seems once a patch comes out I need to reinstall roonos on my nuc

Same problem with my Grimm Mu1 server – Linux.
Similar issue … upgraded remote and Roon will now not start on Windows 11.

Same here. I’m using Roon Server on mac os and just lost the connection to the server. I restarted the server, downloaded the latest version from the website, and re-install it. But it’s the same. Can not connect to the Roon Server
@vova
can i suggest you pull the update so others aren’t impacted? in addition the possible need to fully reinstall roon os maybe more than a minor annoyance. For other OS it’s a bit easier, even though it’s still high as Roon seems unusable

Similarly, having updated, I can no longer connect to my core running on a QNAP NAS, on any device.

Hi, all!
Sorry for the issues you are having. There is a workaround for this problem that will get you back into a working state.
The steps are:
Stop RoonServer process
Go to your Database Location – instruction
Go to Database/Registry/Core
Remove the file called bits
Start RoonServer.
Apologies for the trouble. We are already working on a fix.
Thanks!

@ivan - can confirm, removing the “bits” file worked.
Thanks.

Roon is broken for me as well. I’m running the core on an iMac and using an iPad. After the upgrade Ronn will not open. Unacceptable.

Same problem:
Roon server, which was running fine before the latest update, completely crapped out after accepting to install the update.
The web interface is still available but under Roon Server Software is says NOT RUNNING.
If I refresh the windows it sometimes say it’s been Running for 1 second, but refresh again goes back to NOT RUNNING.
Clearly (yet another) update issue from Roon.
Did try to reinstall the Operating System from the web interface (Safari) it did reinstall presumably successfully but Roon Software still not running.
UPDATE:
Yes removing the file named “bits” worked.
